The Paluxy River eroded away softer rock layers over millions of years, exposing dinosaur footprints preserved in stone from ancient times. The footprints of Sauroposeidon and Acrocanthosaurus gradually filled with clay and silt over eons, turning the tracks to limestone and preserving them to be discovered today along the riverbed.
