wishto examine andhowtheyhelpusgeta betterunderstandingof the complex problemat
hand.My disciplinesthatIchoose toexamine are law,history,economics,andpsychology.
From the perspectiveof the lawhowdowe stopthe problemfromthe top of the chain of the
liability, orinotherwordshowdo we penalize the creatorssomuch,so thatno one will wantto
committhishorrendousoffence?Fromthe historicside of it,how dowe change historysothat
adultsno longercommitthese actsandwe can stop the injusticesthatdeviate oursociety? From

worldisverystrict withthese policies;however,inothercountriesitisnotnearlyasstrict.So

Wortley,Richard,Smallbone,Stephen.“InternetChildPornography:Causes,
Investigation,andPrevention”SantaBarbara,CA (2012)
Thisbookgivesa goodhistorical referencetoourwickedproblemandstatesthatthisproblem
has beenaboutforcenturiesbutonlyrecentlyhasitbeenportrayedinanegative light.The
theorylaidoutin the article isthat “the treatmentof childrenassexual objectsisasoldas
humanity”(1Wortley,Smallbone).Withthe introductionof the internetthe problembecame
vastlyexacerbatedwiththe easyaccesstothese graphicimages. The methodusedismore of a
qualitative asitisbasedontheoriesandresearch. The keyconceptsare that thisissue hasbeen
aroundfor a longtime and that itis goingto take a teameffortto tackle it.Furthermore he says
there isa “desire forsexual gratificationthroughviewingsexualizedimagesof children.Without
thisbasicmotivation,there wouldbe nodemandforchildpornography”(2,3,Wortley,
Smallbone).Althoughhistorystatesthatthisproblemisanorm, this doesnotmeanthat we can
neverchange. The bottomline isthatwe all know this problemisterrible anditisnot right,so
we can change forthe bettermentof ourfuture generations.
