History…..
• 1981 - L8 was scene of
Toxteth riots Over next 30
years area went into
dereliction
• 2010 - residents started
doing up their streets –
painting & planting
• 2011 - Granby4Streets CLT
was born
• Conversations started with
Council
• 2014 - Asset Transfer of 10
properties to CLT

voluntary organisations with funders and corporate partners to ensure maximum
impact for local young people and the area

Project Outcomes:
 Refurbishment of 5 empty homes as affordable housing
 Accredited learning for young people
 On-site construction work experience for young people
 Mentoring & volunteering opportunities for local tradespeople
 Raising aspirations & achievement of young people
 Progression routes for young people into further training and/or employment

from Nationwide Foundation
• More training opportunities for young

• VIY Project due to start in local community

• More affordable houses for local
