Editor's Notes

  • #2 Thanks for having me today, my name is Roman Koposov - I am associate at consulting firm ARB Pro. Our core product is strategy. And in each other project we analyzing how the breakthrough technology's make impact on business of our client. So if we take a logistics market, there are many technologies that are beginning to impact on business: I`m talking about drones-copters delivery which already used in pilot program by amazon prime air, autopilot vehicles, M2M trackers and Big data, and our today topic 3D printing
  • #3 Whole last year we`ve been working on the research and tried to answer the main question – how the 3D printing change several markets. And we tried to estimate the economies of adapting 3D printing for different industries, medical service and retail an logistics. So, to getting tis work down we, work closely with manufactures and 3D-printing service. And some cases that a I am gonna show you in this presentation a re from market players.
  • #4 Yeah, I am talking about company's from the logistics market. And if you take a top 10 of the global 3PL players thy all seeking the opportunity of using 3D printing in there operations. Speed is everything in this day and age, as companies try to get their products to consumers as soon as physically possible. And here is some moves and first steps from logistics company`s. Last year UPS announced that a startup  CloudDDM.  It’s a full-scale manufacturing facility within UPS’s worldwide hub, located in Louisville. ‘DDM’ in the company’s name stands for ‘Direct Digital Manufacturing,’ and that’s exactly what they have set out to accomplish. The 3D printers found within this new facility all run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and require just three employees total; one per 8 hour shift. Сompany is able to produce parts using several materials which include ABS, Polycarbonate (PC), Polycarbonate-ABS (PC-ABS) and ULTEM 1010.  Several color options are also available. Alan Amling, the VP of Marketing at UPS for Logistics and Distribution. Spoken about future of this servise a little wlle afo/ https://3dprint.com/62642/cloudddm-ups/
  • #5 And the same stapes form industrial and it companies. Big corporation invest in R&D centers, aqier 3D printing strataps and integrate this new technology in their business process. But the major step? Was made by Google ventures, they invested $100 mln. In startup carbon 3D, which cut the from 20 to 100 times. So this a real breakthrough for the market today. And this is super fast compare to other technology
  • #6 So here is results, of our research of impact 3D Printing. The markets on the right high sight are pioneers using 3D printers for decades for rapid protoyping, molding proscessis and small scale production. All juwellery campanes use 3D PRINTERS and 3D modeling instead of manual labour or cnc machine. Uptown diamond's – ern extra $2,500 profit when thy start using 3DP. All global car manufactures are using 3D to build a protoupes (6-8 times faster) and mold\cast forms (4 times fester and 3 times cheaper). Car maker Opel reduced manufacturing tool production costs by 90% using 3D printers, with assembly tools made in under 24 hours (down from weeks, when including acquisition cycles). Protoyping, CAST modelling, Small Scale Manufacturing Aerospace, automotive and healthcare industries – earlear adaptors. Tooling, fixters and service parts. More organomycly friendly. Nike, which has filed applications for 3D-printed shoes; Gillette, for razor cartridges; and Mattel, which already mass produces 3D prints of Barbie dolls and Hot Wheels toys and is now looking at customised products. Alcoa, Xerox and GE have also invested in the technology, while Google plans to mass produce 3D-printed smart phones. Maersk, meanwhile, has installed printers on some ships to make spare parts in the event of breakdowns. FMCG = Prototyping
