41. AGENDA
●What is Cloudhub 2.0?
●What’s new in Cloudhub 2.0?
● Advantages over CH 1.0
● Deviations from CH 1.0
● Deployment Demo
●Q&A
42. What is Cloudhub 2.0?
Released in Q3 of 2022, it is the latest
Mulesoft Runtime deployment option
Cloudhub 2.0 simplifies deploying and
running applications using containers (or
pods) based on Kubernetes
o Under the hood, CH 1.0 uses AWS
EC2 instances while CH 2.0 uses
AWS EKS Clusters
o Similar to Runtime Fabric, with some
differences
43. What is Cloudhub 2.0?
CH 1.0 is still available and will still be fully
supported by Mulesoft for the foreseeable
future
Apps using CH 1.0 and 2.0 can be
deployed in parallel in the same
business group
44. What is Cloudhub 2.0?:
Replicas, Shared Spaces and Private Spaces
Replicas
Equivalent to CH1’s workers, these are dedicated,
localized mule runtime instances that host mule
applications
Also scale horizontally (# of replicas per app) and
vertically (replica vcore size)
Shared Spaces
Is a shared elastic cloud of resources where apps
run in a multi-tenant environment
CH 2.0 provides one shared space in each
supported region
45. What is Cloudhub 2.0?:
Replicas, Shared Spaces and Private Spaces
Private Spaces
This is a virtual, single-tenant (dedicated) isolated
logical space in which apps may be deployed into
(equivalent to a VPC)
CH1’s Dedicated Load Balancers -> CH2’s Private
Space Ingress Load Balancer
Customers may create multiple private spaces
according to their needs
47. What’s new in CH 2.0? :
Advantages Over CH 1.0
Private Spaces support outbound firewall rules
Dedicated Load Balancers (DLB) have been replaced with
Ingress Load Balancers which are automatically
assigned to Private Spaces:
o provides access to all app logs and allows log
streaming
o auto-scales network capacity to accommodate
traffic and HTTP load balancing
o assigns public and private IP addresses to access
applications
48. What’s new in CH 2.0? :
Advantages Over CH 1.0 (cont’d)
Replicas have additional vCore sizing options for
increased granularity to suit a wider range of use
cases (e.g., 0.5, 1.5, 2.5, 3.0, 3.5 vCores)
Improved scalability, workload distribution, and reliability
across multi-replica app deployments through
Clustering
Encrypts certificates, passwords and other sensitive
config data at rest and in transit within Anypoint
Platform
49. What’s new in CH 2.0? :
Deviations from CH 1.0
Static IP addresses in CH 2.0 are provisioned at the Private
Space level and not on the application level
CH 2.0 applications can only listen to Port 8081 both for
HTTP and HTTPS traffic
Only Mule Runtime 4.3.0 and above can be used on CH 2.0
TLS 1.0 is no longer supported in CH 2.0
50. What’s new in CH 2.0? :
Deviations from CH 1.0
CH 2.0 does not support app-level persistent queues
VPC Peering and Direct Connect have been deprecated in
CH 2.0
App-level Insights and Custom Alerts are not supported
anymore
51. What’s new in CH 2.0? :
Other changes
Other feature comparisons between CH 1.0, CH 2.0 and RTF
