Ken Lambrecht, a veterinarian and director of the Madison WI Pet Nutrition Alliance, presented at the 8th annual "Pets Reducing for Rescues" weight loss contest kickoff. He discussed how maintaining a pet's ideal weight through regular weighing, calorie counting, and exercise can improve the pet's quality of life, extending their average lifespan by 15% while reducing medical costs. The contest aims to help pets lose weight while raising money for animal rescues. In previous years it has successfully helped pets lose over 1,000 pounds collectively.
