Students in second grade at Reams Road Elementary School researched inventions and innovations from Ancient China as part of a project-based learning activity in the school library in 2015. The librarian provided modeling and guided practice to prepare students for independent research using a dedicated webpage on the library website to access safe and easy information. Students learned to paraphrase information and use a simple process to give credit to their sources.
