TOP FOUR REMAIN SAME, SIOUX FALLS RISES TO NO. 5 IN AFCA DIVISION II COACHES’ POLL
WACO, TEX.– The top four teams held their position, but Sioux Falls (S.D.) rose to No. 5, marking their highest ranking ever in the AFCA
Division II Coaches’ Top 25 Poll. The Cougars are 5-0 this season after a 59-10 victory over Wayne State (Neb.). Minnesota State still
claims the top spot with 30 first-place votes, followed by West Georgia, Northwest Missouri State and Ferris State (Mich.) rounding out
the top four.
	 The rest of the Top 25 changed dramatically as the fifth, sixth and ninth ranked teams in last week’s poll all lost. Then-No. 5 Delta
State (Miss.) fell to Florida Tech, 41-37, and dropped to No. 17, while then-No. 6 Angelo State (Texas) lost a close game to then-No. 20
Midwestern State (Texas), 29-20, and tumbled to No. 16. Valdosta State (Ga.) dropped 12 places to No. 21 after its loss to then-No. 8
North Alabama, 34-12. Tuskegee (Ala.) and Concord (W.Va.) dropped out this week, making room for No. 23 Wingate (N.C.) and No.
24 Grand Valley State (Mich.). This is Wingate’s first appearance in the AFCA Division II Poll since September 5, 2011.
