The document discusses plagiarism, defining it as passing off others' work as one's own without proper citation or credit. It notes that using others' ideas is acceptable in learning as long as proper citation is provided. The document lists examples of plagiarism and provides excuses students sometimes use to justify plagiarism, explaining why these excuses do not absolve one of plagiarism. It states that if plagiarism is found, the student may face penalties from failure in a course to suspension or expulsion.
Purdue University is known for its outstanding engineering program that has produced alumni like Neil Armstrong, the first person to walk on the moon. However, the Purdue Writing Lab shows that Purdue also values strong writing skills, as it has offered free writing consultations since 1976 to help thousands of students each semester with resources like reference books, tutors who are graduate students with excellent writing, and assistance following formats like MLA and APA. The Writing Lab provides credible tutoring and is especially helpful for international students to improve their writing.

The document discusses the Jesuits' interactions with and observations of various Native American tribes such as the Huron and Iroquois in New France (Canada) during the 17th century. It describes how the Jesuits lived with the tribes to learn their languages and customs. While some native practices conflicted with European values, the Jesuits portrayed the tribes fairly and appreciated their way of life. It also discusses religious beliefs, treaty negotiations, winter hunts, and the torture of Jesuit prisoners by the Iroquois.

The Jesuits lived with and learned the languages and customs of the native tribes they encountered, gaining appreciation for their ways of life. Their positive descriptions contrasted with other colonists' views of indigenous people. The Jesuits also witnessed the religious practices and gender roles of tribes like the Huron and Montagnais, gaining understanding despite difficulties in conversion efforts. Their accounts provided insights into Native cultures for Europeans.

TRIZ is a theory of inventive problem solving developed by Soviet engineer Genrich Altshuller beginning in 1946. Altshuller studied over 300,000 patents to discern that inventive principles were often present in successful inventions. TRIZ developed among Soviet engineers in the 1970s with Altshuller as the intellectual leader, lecturing and publishing on TRIZ. TRIZ aims to analyze problems and forecast solutions.

Leveraging Feature Selection Within TreeNetagdavis
This document discusses leveraging feature selection within TreeNet models. It describes how feature selection can improve model performance by identifying the subset of variables that provide the most information gain. The document outlines different feature selection methods like variable shaving, forward selection, and backward selection. It also presents a case study on a marketing dataset that applies these methods and finds that feature selection helped identify optimal variable subsets of size 25, 71, and 72 using different techniques. Overall, the document advocates for using feature selection to optimize TreeNet models.
The document discusses Universal Design, which aims to make products and environments usable by all people without needing adaptation. It outlines the seven principles of Universal Design, including equitable use, flexibility in use, simple and intuitive use, perceptible information, tolerance for error, low physical effort, and size and space for approach and use. The document also discusses using Universal Design in software and technology by making interfaces perceivable, operable, understandable and robust.
The document summarizes an experiment by B.F. Skinner where he placed pigeons in his Operant Conditioning Chamber and dropped food into the box at random times regardless of the pigeons' behavior. The pigeons soon began displaying consistent but odd behaviors like circling or spinning, which Skinner concluded showed they had developed superstitious associations between their actions and receiving food, even though their behaviors did not influence the food drops.
The document contains financial projections for a proposed steel fabrication business over 10 years. It includes projections for investment costs, production costs, sales revenues, profit and loss, cash flow, and other key financial metrics. Forms are provided to input costs for various line items like factory overhead, selling expenses, production costs, and selling prices. Appendices summarize the overall projections including balance sheets, cash flow statements, profit and loss statements, production schedules, and more. Key assumptions include an annual production increase, escalating costs and selling prices, and financing with 70% debt.

SecurusVault Swiss Data Backup overviewsecurusvault
SecurusVault is a Swiss data backup and file sharing tool available globally through www.securusvault.ch . Among other features, the Personnal Information Storage acts as a digital safe for all personal notes not stored on files. The application is compliant with the most stringent security requirements and is a NON USA PATRIOT Act software as it does not store anything in a US based server. GlobeX Data S.A. is the sole developer and owner of the application. An Arabic version is coming by year end and an iPhone iPad application is coming by November 2010.
The document discusses different types of software testing including component testing, integration testing, system testing, and acceptance testing. It then provides details on various testing techniques such as functional testing, non-functional testing, structural testing, and confirmation and regression testing. The goal of software testing is to identify defects, verify functionality, and ensure quality.
