1. Eicca Francis Morgoth Casteleijn 2 years old, look how far we’ve come!! We love you Eicca!!

2. We arrived at the Oulu University hospital (Oys) Monday; after the longest week of our lives, you arrived Friday afternoon.

3. You were immediately loved...

4. 6 days later we came home..

5. Month 1, you were so tiny and a bit yellow!

6. Month 2, showing you off, getting Eicca tattoos and learning the ropes, you slept well through the nite, but weren’t growing too much...the worry we had!

7. 3 months old...March 2008, you had a few day hospital stay when you were 10 weeks old, to see why you weren’t eating or growing.. It was very hard for us to see all those tests done on you, but you got through it like a champion. We didn’t leave your side for a second!

8. 4 months old..you doubled your birth weight, was now 5.2kg and oma and opa wim came to visit. Cousin Hayden Lee was born in Portland on 28.4.08 too. We took to to Ranua Zoo and Koitelinkoski, and you rode in a carseat for the first time.You also had your first Vappu!

9. 4 months old cont..

10. 5 months....we had our 10 year wedding anniversary, and went out, and I had my 31st bday!

11. 6 months old..Joppe, pien and jip came to visit and Eicca drank the most ever while in town, visiting Qstock; 650ml that day!! You started sitting up on your own too.

12. 7 months old, your first trip to Helsinki, we took the train there and flew back to Oulu, and stayed with Riikka and Janne Palo.We were there to get Eicca’s USA passport and to pick up oma and opa from Maui. And Eicca ate a whole jar of mango piltti in the airport, after weeks of avoiding ’solids’.

13. 8 months old with oma and opa..feeding problems continue, but we love you the same!

14. 9 months, together Eicca and mommy flew to Maui, stopping briefly at Great grandpa’s house in SSF, and saw auntie chris and uncle Al. It was nice trip, but we missed papa, Eicca spent lots of time wtih Hayden Lee and weighed 8.2kg there. On the way back to Oulu, we briefly met up with mommy’s friends in SSF.

20. 12 months old, January 2009, 3 weeks at Oys, doing feeding therapy, it didn’t help..and you lost almost a kilo, during this time you turned 1! You crawled 1 week before your bday.

22. 14 months.. Learning so much

23. Being silly with mama in March, come sail your ships around me....

24. 15 months old, April 2009, we went to Boston for 11 days, saw many things, you loved the penguins at the aquarium and ate pudding in Salem. We also saw auntie Marie and Jason. We forgot our camera so bought 2 very crapy ones, so pics look horrible, sorry!

25. Boston cont. It was easter and Eicca got a dancing bunny from Maui, and started saying his 2nd word ’wa-bah’. You also got a horrible bleeding diaper rash  But traveled easily and enjoyed being in a new town! We stayed on Comm Ave at the Buckingham apartments, very cute place, but expensive!

26. On the way back from Boston we saw oma and opa Wim at Schiphol.

27. 15 months old, mama took some pics of you when the Spring light was just perfect.

28. May 2009, 2nd Vappu with the Moilanen brothers, good times walking with the lawnmower outside!

29. May weather was so nice, and you went to the park for the first time.

30. June 8 Eicca and mommy left for San Francisco, papa joined us 2 weeks later. We met oma and opa and you started walking at great grandpa francis’s house when you were 16.5 months old. We saw lots of family and friends.

31. We left SF, July 8, but had so much fun!

32. July 2009, home for the rest of the summer, you were running around like crazy, learning new words, open, up, ’amma’, ’appa’ so sweet. You also started being interested in the vacuum and cleaning, sweeping etc..

33. August 2009, you love cycling behind mommy on her bike, with your helmet, you learn the words, helmet, kypårå and helm fast.

34. September you started daycare at lämsänjärvi school, and loved it after the first week. It was heartbreaking for mama to leave you there screaming those first few days, but now you love it!

35. October brought your 2nd halloween, you had a tin man and ladybug costume.The party theme was come as a song or band, papa was master or puppets, metallica, mama was where the wild roses grow by nick cave

36. November 2009, you took your first school pictures, and ate some fish and berry soup by yourself!

37. December brings your 2nd sinterklaas...

38. 2nd Christmas for Eicca..his present, his very own vacuum cleaner and he loves it! We decided to give our precious Mikko a new home, he deserves more love and attention, but Eicca does miss him.
