Global smartphone shipments declined 3% year-over-year in the third quarter of 2022 according to new data from the International Data Corporation. Samsung maintained the top position shipping over 76 million units and growing its market share to over 21%, while Apple shipped over 50 million iPhones and maintained second place with a 15% market share. Overall the global smartphone market declined for the third consecutive quarter in 2022 as major markets like China experienced a downturn.
