Worthen Industries began in 1866 as Union Paste
Company (Upaco). We have since grown to offer fifteen
distinct product lines. We embrace sustainability and

Worthen Industries, Inc. manufactures specialty
adhesives, coatings, coated products, and thermoplastic
extrusion. Our UPACO (Union Paste Co.) & NYLCO (New
York Laminating Co.) divisions consists of 15 Product Lines
in our 5 U.S. locations that specifically focus our services
on our customer’s needs. We are a service-driven
company that adds value through our Research and
Development capabilities to provide custom solutions

Worthen Adhesive Coated Products specializes in applying
pressure sensistive adhesives to a wide variety of substrates.

The UPACO Footwear Products group offers PermaSeal®
Systems used for waterproof footwear and EcoBond® ﬁlm
adhesives for both sole (in-mold) and upper (Stitchless®)
footwear applications. Additionally, we offer liquid bonding
adhesives (both solvent and water-based, natural and synthetic),
standard hot melts, and PUR’s (polyurethane reactive).

The Paper Converting and Packaging Adhesives Group
supplies adhesives and coatings to paper converters and
general packagers of industrial and consumer products.
We formulate and manufacture all types of adhesives
including: water based, hot melt, solvent based, reactive, and
extruded film adhesives.
09. PAPER CONVERTING AND PACKAGING ADHESIVES
We provide Natural Based Adhesives that are Starch, Dextrin,
and/or Casein based for glass labeling, paper laminating, box
forming/closing, and remoistenables market. Starch/Dextrin
based adhesives used in the glass bottle labeling, paper
laminating, box forming, and remoistenables for envelop gums.
Casein Pastes are also used in the labeling of glass bottles, which
provides excellent ice water resistance, but is easy to remove
during the recycling process.

Worthen Performance Coated Fabrics Group specializes in coating
fabrics with synthetic rubber and plastic coatings including
silicone, neoprene, vinyl, urethane, butyl, acrylic, olefins and
EPDM based TPR. Depending on the application or your custom
specification a wide range of base fabric selections are offered
including woven and nonwoven construction of polyester, polycotton,
nylon, glass, Kevlar or Nomex.

The Performance Coatings and Adhesives Group serves the
automotive, textile, and related industries by providing superior
coating and adhesive systems utilizing water- and solvent-borne
urethanes and acrylics for coating and laminating nylon and
polyester fabrics.

We offer halogen-free alternatives to solvent-based flame

market for over 4 decades.

The Sampson Rib Group supplies Insole Rib and Rib Attaching
Machinery to top manufacturers of Goodyear Welted Footwear
worldwide. Prime Manufacturing and Sampson are Worthen brands
that have been manufacturing Insole Rib in the U.S.A. since 1935. We
have over 100 variations of insole rib for all kinds of shoes. We
manufacture two of the most preferred Rib Attaching machinery in the
world, and our products are available worldwide, with distribution
centers on every continent.
13. SAMPSON RIB & MACHINERY
RIB LAYER BUY BACK PROGRAM
We buy back Sampson Rib Attaching Machines that you no
longer need as a part of our sustainability initiative. This helps
us maintain demands and low operating costs by reconditio-
ning machines and getting them back into circulation at a value
to the customer.
INSOLE RIB
The Sampson Rib Group offers a wide variety
of rib styles that vary in width, thickness,
adhesive, and base fabric construction to
meet the variety of footwear styles and
demands, including Berry compliance for
military applications. If we do not have exactly
what you are looking, we will work with you to

INSOLE RIB MACHINERY
In addition to insole rib, we provide
rib-attaching machines, parts, and
servicing for both the Sampson and Prime
designs. We have machines available for
sale, but we also offer low lease options to
our Insole Rib customers. Our new
Sampson TM-14 model simpliﬁes
operation, improves ergonomics, and
reduces maintenance cost.

Worthen Industries’ Staple and Nail Product Group serves the
fastener industry with custom designed staple and nail adhesives,
coatings, and collating tape. We can custom design solutions to
solve individual problems.
15. STAPLE AND NAIL PRODUCT
CT-2775 is a cleaner/tape remover that is based on (>96%)
renewable, readily biodegradable and USP-grade raw materials
that allows customers to safely and effectively remove the
adhesive and paper from their scrapped nails, so that they can be
reclaimed and introduced back into the collating process.

Worthen Performance Films produces high-performance

We specialize in co-extrusion with films up to 68” and up to 20 mil
thick. We also have the ability to extrude onto various substrates.
