Stress Among Parents Having Epileptic Children...Aswani n yachnadyutirajagiri
Fathers of children with epilepsy experience significantly higher levels of stress than mothers, according to a study analyzing stress levels in 20 fathers and 20 mothers of children aged 10-15 who have been undergoing epilepsy treatment for the past 5 years. The study found the mean stress level was 62.7 for mothers and 65.25 for fathers, with a significant difference of p=0.037. Several key areas contributed more stress for fathers than mothers, including questions about the child's behavior, sleep, and emotional state. The conclusion is that fathers caring for a child with epilepsy face unique stresses due to social contexts and family coping patterns.
