BFIW-Build FA IPEDS Work File
• This process generates TWO Work Files
• Public Colleges and Universities Must Complete the ‘PUBLIC
SECTION’
• We can run the Work File numerous times, clear it, add to it, update it
• The Work File includes both FA and ST data
• You may only store ONE work file per year
• Tuition Rates-uses the residency status on RGPE-Registration

Viewing the Data on FISE, MFIW and FISA
• FISE-FA IPEDS Student Extract
• Provides the list of students for the given year
• MFIW-Maintain FA Student IPEDS Work file
• Can detail from FISE to view program specific information for the
student, income information, housing plan, enrollment status, etc.
• FISA-FA IPEDS Student Awards
• If the student has awards, there is a detail from MFIW to FISA. This
allows you to view award information.

complete the IPEDS report.

IPEDS-Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System
IPEDS: The primary source of data on colleges. Universities and
technical and vocational postsecondary institutions in the United
States.
The FA IPEDS report is due in early Spring of each year.
The reports must be submitted via the
