20231218 Plan for two-footed jump, on ice.
Sharon Liu.
2023/12/18.
So far, we have, in summary: done a two-footed jump on roller skates, 10-20cm high (on the old pub site, on the
Meadows Embankment), done kicks to xiphisternal level, on roller skates, done a right side kick, to hip level, on roller
skates, and done a 1/16th
single Axel on roller skates (about 1cm high). Also, I have slow skated on ice. So, the idea is, to
spend plenty of time roller skating, as it doesn’t cost a lot. Also, to do plenty of parkour, dance and gymnastics, whilst

What to do, to get a two-footed jump on ice?
Now, the idea is, to react ten times faster, as the ice is ten times as slippery, as concrete. The Winter Wonderland ice
rink, did say that if I jumped 1 metre high, on roller skates, that would mean, that I would be able to do a 1cm high jump,
on ice skates (a two-footed jump). I have seen people, fall on the ice. They generally very quickly lose balance, after
tilting slightly. (Well, at the time, they appeared to be a bit winded, but didn’t break anything.) I mean, I have decided,
that if I go round and round, near the centre of the ice rink, and finish off with a spin, perhaps that would give me
enough balance, to do the two-footed jump. Well, I haven’t been doing enough exercise. Yesterday, I was sure that the
arms had enough strength, to avoid falling to either side, with the roly-poly, but still no luck, as the shoulders and arms,
are still weak. (That was an aside. It’s not got direct relevance to ice skating, that’s true.)
When a person is ice skating, do the arms move? (???) Well, of course they move, but do you need strong arms, to
balance on the ice? It’s kind of good if you do, because then you see, that would be a whole body workout, right?
Alright, alright. Back to the two-footed jump. I wonder if you do that, in a wide stance. Er, the moment passed, and I was
unsure again. See, if you do the two-footed jump, in a wide stance, then the balance is better. Oh yes, how do you skate
faster? i have seen some YouTube videos, where they (Red Bull) skated faster. The knee has to go up (backwards), and
the hip has to go back. I don’t know, how he gets such a wide angle of movement. I must admit, when I go on the ice, I
just inch forward. Perhaps, I should devise small movements, on the ice. There is that standard move, where one foot
tiptoes. (That move, belongs to an ice skating attendant, at the Winter Wonderland.) There might also be a small move,
where one foot balances on the heel. (Where the skate balances at the rear end.) Also, I could do tighter circles, on the
ice.
So, we have thought about small moves. We should also really think about what to sing, to keep the mind sharp. You
know, to be inspired. Maybe we should build ACMJ, on the ice. Ah you see, it’s only when the mind runs fast, that you
do the complicated moves. You see, I should keep going with the really difficult work, when talking, and you see, the
skating fast move, is easy to coordinate, if the mind goes at that speed. It’s just, bend the knee, and step forwards, onto
the ice, at fast pace, to do a fast skate. To warm up the mind for the ice, I must do an ACMJ hand move, before I go onto
the ice rink. Ideally, on the same day, I need to do roller skating, but this may not be possible, as I now only roller skate
on the old pub site. Perhaps. I should move quickly, all day. I don’t know. I have started talking on a different thread,
whilst copying notes up, in my diary, but the mind generally, is relaxed all day. Alright. Relax, relax.
Stamina is very important, on the ice. Dad only lets me go to the ice rink, when I have eaten breakfast. Last time, I lasted
for 20 minutes. Did I, use up £200? Hm. Well you see, strength and stamina are only built up slowly, right? There might
be another move, that I should think about. Perhaps I write equations, to help place the foot. Let’s see. If slip length
equals recovery length, then you stay balanced. Wow, look how exact it is. That’s an equation, for one foot. Let’s write
another equation, for ice skating at normal speed. Speed equals stride frequency. There is no need, to draw exact
diagrams. No, you see, that takes a long time, anyway. So you see, what you do, with the slow skate, is move the feet
faster, flat along the ice, if you can. Then, you see, you get to the standard speed skate, as your balance improves, when
you go faster on a slow skate. Ah you see, all this typing, has done me a great deal of good. The British military are right,
in that I need to roller skate, but you see, if you are only on the old pub site, for 30 minutes or so, there is no time to
think.
About war, my advice is to stay well away. Oh yes, the unconquerable slope, near the old pub site. I should go to the
edge slowly, and take a look, at least. See, if I don’t feel like going down the slope, I should at least take a look. See, that

was what I should have done, last time on the old pub site. We’ll definitely take a look, next time. I wonder if I should,
keep typing. SlideShare said, two pages. Alright, alright, let’s see how long we last. I could still type one page, in 40
minutes. What was I, about to type, for the next page? Was it, the single Axel? Was it, going down a slope, on roller
skates? See, what was it? Was it, more equations? It could have been, the single Axel. I was about to go on and type
about, the extremely difficult moves. Right. I recovered it. I mean, we can’t look at the old pub site directly, but we can
imagine the slope, in this document. So you see, the slope is around about 30 degrees to the horizontal, before the wall.
