Its larger than average load compartment, 1,700mm length and 1,600mm width, make this van a necessity for any commercial company.<br />With class-leading driveability, ride and handling, plus the benefits of low whole-life costs, the new practical-dimensioned van boasts a peace of mind guarantee, including two years unlimited mileage warranty and two years Citroen Commercial Assist cover.<br />Competitively priced and well-equipped, the Berlingo range – available in 600kg and 800kg versions – has been expanded with the launch of an electric model and a 1.4i version for conversion to gas fuelling.<br />Citroen C15 Champ<br />Accelerating onto the scene is the new Champ range from Citroen. It includes two vans, the D600 and D765, which offer exceptional value for money. The fuel-efficient 1769, 60hp XUD diesel engine is being recognised as one of the best available in this market sector. It combines smooth running with a proven reputation for high mileage reliability.<br />Included as standard is a five-speed all-synchromesh gearbox, power steering, two 1.1m high and wide rear doors opening to 180 degrees and a 94 cubic feet (2.66 cubic metre) load compartment.<br />The C15 Champ also comes with Citroen’s two-year warranty package.<br />Citroen Dispatch<br />Designed to meet a growing need for a truly versatile and compact van, the Citroen Dispatch is now available with a clean, efficient 95hp, 2.0TD HDi power, filling a gap in the light commercial vehicle range between the Berlingo and the larger Relay vans.<br />With key operational benefits, premium specifications and its competitive price, the Dispatch is suited for both urban and long distance operation.<br />The vans offer a practical 4,440mm length and 1.940mm overall height, 4 cubic metres load compartment and an 815kg or 900kg payload, all designed for maximum load carrying versatility.<br />All Dispatch models come with the Citroen two-year warranty deal.<br />Citroen Relay for 2000<br />The Citroen Relay range has benefited from a major specification upgrade process, including boosts to the safety and security standards with the introduction of front anti-roll bars on every model.<br />Relay security has also been improved by the addition of a transponder activated engine immobiliser, which is now fitted in all models. Tinted windows and power steering now come as standard on all models.<br />All vans in the Relay range are low-cost, high-efficiency business transport and are backed by Citroen’s two-year guarantee.<br />500 Berlingos for British Gas<br />British Gas has ordered 500 Citroen Berlingo 1.9D 800 vans, finished in British Gas blue, for their company’s use. The major order has taken place after an initial 28 Berlingo vans successfully completed an 18-month trial programme with British Gas.<br />The van is ideally suited to accommodate the domestic gas appliance parts and tools required by British Gas’s service engineers.<br />Steve Hunter, British Gas fleet manager, said: ‘Long-term trials showed the Berlingo van to be reliable and economical. It is also well-designed to meet the day-to-day requirements of our service engineers.’<br />The vans are being operated on a three-year, 36,000 mile leasing agreement from the Leasing Group. John Hargreaves, Citroen’s commercial vehicle operations manager said: ‘The British Gas order reflects the Berlingo’s suitability for intensive start-stop operations.’<br />
