COVER YOUR NEED FOR SPEED
Corporate licence + service agreement = more speed
Users with corporate licences of MIKE 21 FM HD and MIKE FLOOD FM got a pleasant surprise with Release 2014 – and now they
get another one when installing Service Pack 2 (SP2).
Release 2014 brought a brand new, GPU-enabled, version of the MIKE 21 FM HD module. With SP2, the GPU support is
extended so that users can now benefit from PCs with up to 4 GPU cards – and get another terrific performance boost!
Depending on the model setup and the type of GPU, the speed-up for one GPU card can be a factor 100 or more, when compared
to running the same simulation on a single processor CPU! *) Going from one to four GPU cards yields another factor of up to 3 –
leading to a total speed-up in the range of 300! And further: the largest speed-up factors kick in when you really need them – for
large model meshes of 1 million elements or more.
You can use the multiple GPU card option on both Windows and LINUX based hardware – with the usual limitations regarding the
GUI running only on Windows.
This new GPU ability is free of charge for as long as you maintain your service agreement for your corporate licence.
Updated benchmark and validation results for MIKE 21 GPU are available on our MIKE by DHI website.
FREE GPU UPGRADE - NOW UP TO 4 GPU CARDS
*) See the published benchmark report for details of the hardware used in the tests

Users with corporate licences of MIKE 21 FM HD or MIKE 3 FM HD can speed up
their simulations even beyond the speed of the GPU version by running the simulations
on a true high performance computer (HPC). The numerical engines of MIKE 21 FM
HD and MIKE 3 FM HD are available in LINUX versions. These versions have been
successfully installed in HPC centres around the world.
Depending on the model setup, the speed-up can be close to linear - meaning that
simulations run close to 500 times faster on 600 cores than the same simulations run
on a single core. For certain very large models, it is even possible to achieve better
than linear speed-up!
The HPC versions are available on an annual lease basis to users with valid service
agreements.
Users with valid service agreements also have access, at preferential rates
(half price), to more MIKE software and virtual PCs in the cloud through our MIKE by
DHI SaaS portal. This offer is not limited to licences that you already own. It can also
be used for licences that you are considering to buy or that you only need for a brief
period of time.
