comprehensive spinal injury rehabilitation services, training and research.

3. How it was initiated ???
• Journalist and Founding chair person Kanak Mani Dixit
suffered severe spinal cord injury from a fall in August
2001. They created the “ Spinal Injury Sangh
Nepal”, a non profit organization.
• Spinal Centre was inaugurated on 7th April 2002
by Sir Edmund Hillary at the Nepal Disabled
Association Compound in Jorpati, Kathmandu.

6. • On 2008, Centre relocated from Jorpati to its own purpose built facility in Kavre.
• Registered with Ministry of Health
• 150 beds rehabilitation centre.
• Worked in collaboration with Bharatpur hospital to start a unit in Chitwan
• Planning to open other rehab units in major parts of Nepal, collaborating with
private and governmental institution.
• Holistic approach of Rehabilitation
• More than 16 hundred people with SCI, rehabilitated
• Specialized in SCI
• More than 100 staff working
• Became a renowned Organization
