I always told myself…”I need to get back in shape.” Then I sat and waited for the time to be
right. I thought there would be the prefect opportunity where I suddenly found myself with an
extra hour a day that I didn’t know what to do with. I thought I needed to be in the right financial
position, with the right job or promotion. I assumed as the kids grew up a bit more or some
magical moment came that the time would finally be right. It never came!! I had to decide on my
own to make that magic moment today! I had to QUIT SETTLING and make it happen. I didn’t
want to be the dad on the sidelines, trying to keep up with my kids. I didn’t want to settle for out
of shape, unable to do the things I enjoyed the way I wanted to, like play sports and go hiking.
Don’t get me wrong, I was moderately active, but my limits were hindered by my lack of
conditioning, my extra pounds and inability to maintain a high level of activity.
