- 2. All the licences have been issued by the state government and Vaikundarajan can claim confidently that no part of his business is a illegal by any chance. He further explains that he had received not one or two but a whole of 16 licences in the year 2002-03 which gave VV Minerals the right to mine ilmenite, rutile and garnet. The licenses also gives VV mineral the permission to export these materials. The 16 licences that were issued did not allow the mining giant to mine or export monazite which the company has consciously stayed clear off, making all their mining activities a hundred percent legal. Ten years later VV Minerals however was granted further issuances to mine and export monazite as well. The documents also state a royalty rate to be paid to the Goverment of India making it as legitimate as it gets. However, when the allegation began to make rounds the central government has turned facts around, claiming that these issuances were never made. On which note, Vaikundarajan is confident that this an effort to sabotage his success and image. He is sincerely shocked about being called a massive mining mafia.
