โข He sought to increase allocation to
key areas.

10. Analysis of the Budgets

After Skimming the budgets of 2013-14 and 2014-15 the following
analysis could be extrapolated:-
โข The targeted growth rate in 2013-14 was significantly achieved while
the targets set in 2014-15 could not be achieved.
โข At the end of fiscal year 2014 India ranked 9th in GDP whereas at the
end of 2015 it ranked 7th in the table.
โข The Modi Govt. spent more on agriculture and defence than the
Manmohan govt.
โข The 2013-14 saw more spending on the Education sector and the
Rural Develpoment than 2014-15.
โข Thus, keeping in mind the economic growth and the set targets of
both the Ministries it can be concluded that the Ministry of Finance
performed better in 2014-15.
