Group MD meets with staff at breakfast meetings
30th Jun, 2008: The second breakfast meeting with Group MD/CEO concluded yesterday in Intercontinental Hotel as part of a
series of town hall meetings which are being organized by the Human Resource & Internal Communications department.
Obaid Al Shamsi said “Mr Khaled Al Kamda emphasises on having such meetings to create a more transparent culture and to improve
top-down communication within Dubai Islamic Bank”

Several topics were discussed during the breakfast meeting, where the employees were given an opportunity to interact directly with
the Group MD/CEO and the Management and express their issues and recommendations for the organization.
In addition, Mr. Khaled shared the bank’s future strategy and plan with the staff, such as improving services, employee career
development, the bank core business development, focusing on support departments and units within the bank, entering into new
markets within UAE and the region, etc. He said, “Growth is important, but we need to focus on our real assets which are the
employees. Our main objective is to become the number one bank in the country and we have set our strategy to achieve these
objectives”.
He added, “the bank has gone through some major changes during the past 6 months, and we have worked with Boston Consultant
Group to map out the strategy and organizational structure in order to achieve the 2010 vision of the bank”.
Employees took this opportunity to direct their questions to GMD and made sure that their voice is heard. Mr. Khaled promised to
look personally into those issues and to decide on the right action plan to tackle all of them.
