Milton Hershey apprenticed as a candy maker at age 14 and started many businesses before founding the Hershey Chocolate Company. He married Catherine Sweeney in 1898 and together they dedicated their lives to educating and caring for underprivileged children. Hershey was born in 1857 in Derry Township, Pennsylvania and went on to build the largest candy company in history as well as a factory town named Hershey, Pennsylvania to support the company and philanthropic endeavors to help children through education.
