:
If an infection led to significant deterioration of the alveolar wall then exchange of oxygen and
carbon dioxide at the walls of alveoli reduced.It is because there is very less surface area for the
oxygen-carbon exchanging process.Due to result of this lungs expands.It effect breathing
process.And cause non repairable damage to the lung tissues.This is a life threatening damage.
