1. J&K Tourism dazzles in Lord Mayor`s show in London
The Jammu and Kashmir tourism department
became the first in the country to have taken part in
the Lord Mayor's Show in London.
It showcased the famed 'Shikara' as a part of the
world's oldest civic procession.
Participation in the Lord Mayor's Show will be
beneficial for the promotion of Jammu and Kashmir
tourism. The state's float compromised a Shikara
mounted on the top.

More that 30 people, wearing traditional dresses
from all three regions of the state, accompanied the
float.
Over 6,000 people took part in the show, the world's
oldest civic procession, where vehicles, carriages
and floats were paraded on the streets of London.
It had 200 vehicles including two steamrollers, a
potato harvester, rickshaws, a horse-drawn double-
decker bus and a mobile post office.
3. Foreigners in China can now buy only one home
Foreigners in China will now be allowed to buy only
one apartment on the mainland under new rules
announced by the government.
Overseas buyers must provide statements to show
that they do not own other properties on the
mainland.
Along with it proof of at least one year's employment
in the country before home purchases, the Shanghai
Daily reported citing the Securities Times.

Overseas companies can only buy non-residential
properties in cities where they are registered.
The new laws were announced in a statement issued
jointly by the ministry of housing and urban-rural
development and the state administration of foreign
exchange.
Previously, foreigners studying and working in China for
at least one year were allowed to buy properties for their
own use.
This policy, announced in July 2006, did not limit the
number of homes they could buy.
5. Google gives top executives 30% pay raise, up to 250%
bonus
Internet search giant Google Inc has approved a
handsome pay hike of 30 per cent and bonuses of
250 per cent of the base salary for its top executives
starting next year.
Google has approved an increase to the annual base
salaries (effective as of January 1, 2011) of its
executive officers,
After a review of performance and competitive
market data, and as part of a broad-based review of
the company's compensation programs, it said in a
regulatory filing to the US Securities and Exchange
Commission.

that Google is planning to give a 10 per cent salary
hike to all of its 23,000 employees across the world
starting next year.
