2. INSIDE A VOLCANO & HOW
VOLCANO ERUPT?
When a volcano, erupt the
gas in the magma chamber
pushes the magma upward
through the pipe from the
vent and then it touches the
ground which then become
lava and then the lava flows
and solidify into rock.
3. TWO TYPES OF VOLCANOES
there are two types of
QUIET VOLCANO volcanoes. Quiet and
Explosive volcanoes.
EXPLOSIVE VOLCANO
4. QUIET VOLCANO
A volcano erupts quietly only if the magma is
hot or low in silica.
The gases in the magma bubble out gently.
Low-silica lava oozes quietly from the vent and
can flow for many kilometers.
5. EXPLOSIVE VOLCANO
a volcano erupts explosively if its magma is
high in silica.
The trapped gases build up pressure until they
explode.
6. GLOSSARY
MAGMA CHAMBER: all the magma in the volcano is collected in the
magma chamber.
PIPE: magma goes upward by the pressure of the gas through the pipe.
VENT: the magma erupts from the opened area at the top of the volcano
called vent.
LAVA FLOW: the lava that flows from the vent to the ground is called lava
flow.
SILICA: Silica is a material that is in magma which is made up of oxygen
and silicon.
