Don Bosco Ngangi Center Scen Bringing Health and Hope to victims of Crisis in the Congo
The Salesians of Don Bosco The Salesians of Don Bosco are a religious order founded in the late 19th century by St John Bosco to care for poor and at risk children
Don Don Bosco Ngangi is a Salesian run center in Goma located in the northeastern region of the Democratic Republic of Congo
Goma is located in North Kivu province, the heart of the warfare that has claimed 6 million lives in the Congo since 1996
The presence of UN peace keeping forces and it’s location on the border, have made Goma the recipient of the massive human wave of refugees fleeing the conflict and atrocities
Like other Don Bosco Centers around the world, Don Bosco Ngangi was founded to minister to children and youths.
Since 1988 the center has provided schooling, food, lodging and spiritual care to orphans and abandoned children. The Center now cares for over 3, 500 children
They have added a feeding center
They provide medical care and support to surrounding refugee camps
The addition of a medical center now provides desperately needed medical care to the children of the center and the local refugee population.
The medical center consist of a clinic, hospital, cholera ward and nutritional center for severe cases of malnutrition.

The Babies of Ngangi
With the tender heart of a mother, Vicky serves food to the little babies. It takes more than food to restore good health. It takes affection and nurturing to restore appetites and well being. Bon Appetit Children!
Many babies in the Center were found in tears beside the lifeless bodies of their parents
Their small bodies ravaged by the effects of war and starvation, these children may once again know the feel of a loving touch and a full stomach
