6. ELD: DRIVER LOGS
⢠Drivers have more responsibility and
accountability!
⢠Drivers must review logs and certify them daily.
â Not reviewing logs could result in hours of service
violations.
⢠Administrators can suggest edits to driver logs,
but the driver must review the suggested edits
and approve or reject them.
⢠Automatically recorded driving time cannot be
modified or changed to any different status.
â Reassigning Driving Hours:
Team Driver and Unknown Driving Event
⢠Administrators review any unknown driving logs.
⢠Drivers must review unknown driver logs and
accept or reject unknown driving time.
7. ELD: AUTOMATED DRIVING STATUS
⢠The ELD automatically records driving time
when the vehicle reaches 5 MPH.
⢠Note:
â If you logged into the ELD, driving time will
be attributed to you and will count against
your daily driving hours.
â If you did not log into the ELD, an Unknown
Driving log will result.
8. ELD: YARD MOVES AND PERSONAL CONVEYANCE
⢠Carriers will decide if they will use Yard Move and Personal Conveyance statuses.
⢠The ELD automatically switches to Driving mode unless the driver has selected Yard
Move or Personal Conveyance prior to moving.
â Drivers must manually switch into (and out of) Yard Move and Personal Conveyance.
9. ELD: ROADSIDE INSPECTIONS
⢠Drivers must be able to show compliance
officers daily electronic Record of Duty Status
(RODS) records including graph grids during an
inspection.
⢠Drivers must be able to transfer RODS data
electronically to a compliance officer upon
request.
10. ELD: DEVICE MALFUNCTION
Driver Responsibilities
⢠Report the malfunction to your carrier
within 24 hours.
⢠Revert to paper logs
⢠Check to see if you can retrieve the last
7 days of logs from the ELD.
⢠If they canât be retrieved from the ELD,
recreate the Record of Duty Status
records using paper charts for the
current 24-hour period and the last 7
days.
Carrier Responsibilities
⢠Repair or replace the ELD within 8 days.
11. ELD: REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION
⢠Drivers must carry the following documentation in-cab at all times:

â Malfunction Instructions
â Roadside Inspection Instructions
â Eight-day supply of blank RODS graph grids.

14. EDIT SUGGESTIONS â AUTOMATIC DRIVE TIME RESTRICTIONS
Note: Any Automatically created drive time can not
be edited nor can the Driver ID associated with that
Drive Time be edited or reassigned.
Drivers must remember to log in and out of the
vehicle
16. RESOLVING OR ACKNOWLEDING UNIDENTIFIED DRIVING MILES
There are two option for dealing with Unidentified Events
⢠Resolving them by suggesting assignment to a driver
⢠Acknowledging them by annotating a reason they can be assigned
