1. MACHU PICCHU
Machu Picchu is an old Inca city in Peru, in Shouth America.
Pachacuti probably built this city in the 15th century.
The Incas left Machu Pichu in the 16th century.
But Hira Bingham, an American explorer, discovered
the lost City of Machu Picchu in 1.911. When he discovered
the city, it was full of trees and vegetation.
Where is Machu Picchu?
2. Machu Picchu is in the Andes Mountains in Peru. Machu
Picchu is about 13 square Kilometres. It is 2,314 metres
above sea level between two big mountains.
There is a river, The Urumbara river, at the bottom, between
the two big mountains.
Who discovered Machu Picchu?
Hiram Bingham discovered Machu Picchu in 1.911. He
worked as a teacher at the University in the USA. When he
discovered Machu Picchu, there was a jungle everywhere,
there was a lot of vegetation. It was a hard work to cut all
the trees and plants to uncover the city.
People were surprised by the size and beauty of this city.

Machu Picchu is a city made with big stones.
The Incas built the city with stones.
There are a lot of stairs, paths, terraces, houses and a
graveyard.
Most the stone houses have one room.
