Personal InterviewBased on your interview notes from this week’s discussion activity,
analyze the epidemiological data surrounding the health issue that your agency addresses.
Compare the epidemiological data with the information provided by the agency
director/representative by addressing the following points:How do the epidemiological
data and the information provided by the agency director/representative differ? How are
they similar?Based on the epidemiological information collected, what is the true effect that
the agency is having on your community?Appraise the various methods that should be
employed to help the agency improve its effectiveness.Analyze the 10 Essential Services of
Public Health and how they are (or are not) wrapped into the service provided by this
agency.Epidemiological data consists of statistical information on your population obtained
through primary sources, which are typically research studies or government survey
information (such as those provided by the CDC or health department). Utilize the Ashford
University Library and/or government websites to locate statistics that relate to your
organization. For example, if you interviewed someone from an organization that focused
on childhood obesity, you would locate research studies that provided statistical results for
your county, region, or state to illustrate what was actually occurring in your area regarding
childhood obesity. Once you have this data, compare it with the information provided by
the agency director or representative that you interviewed. In some cases, you may only be
able to find actual state statistics, but your organization may have provided only local
data. This is okay; just make sure you note this in your paper and through critical thinking,
infer how this might influence the effectiveness of your organization’s work. HCA 415: Disc

minimum of two scholarly sources that your main ideas. Also, use surveillance information
that was discussed as part of the epidemiology process.HCA 415: Disc 1Essential Service

Personal Interview The focus of the interview was to develop an understanding of health
practices within a nursing home atmosphere in relation to our aging population’s
psychological and sociological disorder (Hawkins & Domingue, 2012, pp. 1150-56). Often
times our aging population are placed with homes that are expected to provide due
diligence of care. The population in which this interview will be conducted on is the nation’s
2. critical health issues concerning the elderly/aging population and the related quality of care
while placed, voluntarily or involuntarily within these environments. The purpose of the
interview was to further gain an understanding of the nursing home environment and the
potential health implications during the patient treatment and/or recovery. The interview
was conducted with an employee whom is the Director of Health Service from a nursing
care facility located in New York City. Currently, New York City operates 7 nursing homes
within the Brooklyn jurisdiction, thus, this interview will be conducted on a social services
director located within the interior of Brooklyn. Examples, includes the Amsterdam Nursing
Home, Village Nursing Home, and Brooklyn Queens Nursing Home. However, the individual
being interviewed has requested anonymity of identifying information for obvious reasons.
Questioning: I. Do you feel your organization has made a difference? Yes we have. Currently,
we have 200 bed facility with a 91% recovery rate for our less than sever cases, however,
the number will dropped significantly with patients that suffer the long term irreversible
cognitive illnesses. II. What are your main barriers and how are the barriers to services
being addressed? One of the barriers within our facility is being able to attain and keep
effective and efficient qualified therapeutic practitioners such as psychologist and
sociologist. For the most part we are supplied with these resources from the state, yet, it’s
very frustrating running on the states schedule, often times it violates the patient’s rights
while compromising our organizational policies. III. What are the ethical considerations of
your services and how are they addressed? For the position that I hold, the ethics
surrounding our patients care is strictly enforced through our lawful compliance practices,
especially when administering care through our care plans. HCA 415: Disc 1Essential
Service Personal InterviewThese plans are HIIPA complaint, requires all power of attorneys
(POA’s) (family members and so forth) presence, input, and acknowledgements. In addition
to facilitating doctor’s recommendations, all other concerns are inquired with POA’s. IV.
How is your organization funded? We are cooperation with shareholders and stakeholders
whom provide most of the funding for our organizations investment. Of course this is
supplemented by the individual profits of each facility. In some cases, we will utilize state
and local grants in addition to our third party account contracted partnerships with
equipment’s manufactures and suppliers. V. What concerns are still unmet in your opinion?
Are these areas that will be addressed in the future? Currently, my concerns lay with the
unfilled positions of behavioral and cognitive therapy functions. This is something in which
we believe is crucial in providing the type of care that is required. However, as mentioned,
recruiting, evaluating, and retaining qualified individuals that foster cultural competence is
an extreme challenge, something that has been prolonged long enough. VI. What role does
your organization play in the overall public health arena? We provide rehabilitative and
long term care for injuries and illnesses that requires our services, the restoration of our
patience’s dignity. Organization Brief We are a 200 bed facility providing Sub-Acute Care
Center providing exemplary care to the community of our surroundings. Management is
well rounded and adverse within the medical industry with backgrounds ranging from
formerly retired on call doctors, LPN’, RN’s, and operating the floors daily care are 75
dedicated employees working in a divers environment. Our patients will find their
rehabilitation needs met, experience clinical excellence, values of respect, compassion,
3. honesty and integrity. We have been ranked as the top nursing home in recent years,
awarded by medicare.gov. Finally, our organization generates over $24 million in annual
revenues with no state held actions placed upon our facility in the last 9 years, since I’ve
been holding this position. The code of ethics is something that we pride our policy
deliverance on (PHLS, 2002, pp. 1-16). Friis, R. H., Bell, N. M., & Philibert, B. (2013).
