Strategy defined Strategy is the sum of multiple externally invisible business models ready to be implemented should certain contingencies take place.  To have a strategy is to be ready to adapt to changes in the environment where one acts. The complete set of business models forming the strategy is only known internally. External observers only see the business model being practised at a certain time, the realized strategy.

  • 10. Blizzard entertainment Mission statement: “Dedicated to creating the most epic entertainment experiences...ever.” 8 core values: Gameplay first, commit to quality, play nice; play fair, embrace your inner geek, every voice matters, think globally, lead responsibly, learn and grow

Business model for Blizzards most succesful game; World of Warcraft Realized business model for WoW:Provide a reliable, engaging virtual world to attract and keep players active, satisfied but without a ”finish line”. Value is generated through customer purchases of the game, game expansions and by monthly fees. Possible other business models? Microtransactions for gear?
  • 12. Blizzard’s strategy statement To be globally recognized as the single most appreciated and trustworty entertainment content provider by 2015. By offering high quality engaging entertainment experiences for all customers.
