the Sun City Resort on the 11th of May 2013. The awards have grown to be the biggest music
awards in South Africa, since their inception in 1995.

company Kia is giving away 3 brand new Kia Rio's, live during the broadcast of the awards on
SABC 1. Music lovers who will be watching the awards on their televisions or at the show live
will be requested to sms 3 key words during the show in order to stand a chance of winning one
of the 3 brand new Kia Rio's.
Organisers of the awards promise fireworks this year. South African music has improved
immensely and the competition for the top awards this year is even tougher.
One can not accurately guess which artist will walk away with the prestigious record of the year
award. Previously Durban kwaito group Big Nuz have been dominating the awards but this year
expect to see new artist emerging as winners of the famous MTN Record of the year category.
The MTN Record of the year features, Mzansi's greatest artist of our era. The likes of HHP,
Black Motion, B.O.P, Donald, Kabomo, DJ Vetkuk vs Mahoota, Elvis Blue, Liquid Deep, Mi
Casa, Riot, Oskido, Sfiso Ncwane, teargas and the former idols runner up Lloyd Cele and idols
winner Khaya.
The battle lines have been drawn, come Saturday the 11th may, one of the artists will be crowned
for the prestigious award. However, it is surprising that no female artist is included in the record
of the year category. Putting all the controversies aside, may the best artist win.
