Do you like to listen to stories? Then our library audio books might just be for you. We have lots of them for you to check out. But here are some things you need to know.
You can only take one at a time. You can check it out for 2 weeks. Be really careful with it. And make sure you return ALL of the parts.
We have three different kinds of audio books.
See the little feet? Load the cassette into the feet and then close the cover.
Press this button to play the cassette. Press this button to stop. This button is fast forward or you can flip the cassette over and use it to reverse.

This story is on CDs. To listen, you need a CD player and some headphones. You might have one at home or you might have a computer with a CD player. You might also be able to listen in your car.
To open the lid, push this button. Load the CD and snap the lid shut.

This kind of audio book is called a “Playaway.” The story is already loaded on this little player.
To listen, you will need to use your own headphones or earbuds. If you don’t have any at home you can buy earbuds from the library for 75 cents. Then you get to keep them!
Here are the directions for turning it on and off. Make sure you turn it off when you are finished listening so you don’t wear down the battery.
When you are listening to a Playaway you should always have the neck strap around your neck so you don’t drop it.
We said it before.. But make sure you return everything – all the cassettes, all the CDs, the headphones, the plastic box, the neck strap…., EVERYTHING!
