The story is about a shepherd boy who lies twice about seeing a wolf when there is no wolf. When a wolf does come, no one believes the boy's cries for help because he cried wolf before when there was no wolf. As a result, the wolf is able to eat all of the boy's sheep. The story teaches that no one will believe a liar, even when telling the truth, because of losing credibility from previous lies.
