Ensure only figured dimensions are used for
construction. All dimensions to be checked on site.
All joists to be SC4 grade in accordance with Structural
Engineers Details. 400mm centres to spans as indicated on
joist layout
Double up joists where indicated on drawing. Bolt together
doubled up joists 600mm centres using 10mm dia black bolts
Joist ends generally to be built into walls, end bearings
100mm. Treat ends with 2 No. liberal coats of timber
preservative
Fix herringbone strutting where indicated using either 38mm
square section sw, or Catnic galv or steel herringbone joist
struts indicated thus
Strap joists to walls with 30 x 5mm section galv. straps
Where indicated RS provide noggins on line
of straps, minimum depth of noggin 150mm. Notch top of
joists for flush strap fixing
Floor finish to match existing unless otherwise specified by
