1. Double down against the cold: ClimaGuard Hi R™ 802.
When you’re facing frigid temperatures, smart layering can make all the difference. Through
advanced glass technology, HiLightR 802 pairs two ClimaGuard Low-E coatings on a single
pane of glass to meet rigorous new energy codes and ENERGY STAR® standards in the
Northern U.S. and Canada. This dual coating innovation intensifies the insulation of windows,
doors and skylights with no change in window design.
Better Energy Rating (ER) scores with less glass
The interior pane of glass does double duty with a unique dual coating technology. HiLightR 802
combines the efficiency of ClimaGuard 80/70 Low-E glass with the insulating power of
ClimaGuard IS-20, boosting thermal performance without sacrificing natural light. The high
visible light transmission of 79%, coupled with a solar heat gain coefficient of .675 gives
HiLightR 802 a passive solar heat advantage, allowing the sun’s natural warmth through the
window and into homes as a free and sustainable heat source.
Exceed triple-glazing results with a double-glazed window
By infusing both sides of a single piece of glass with specialized ClimaGuard Low-E coatings,
we make it possible for you to achieve better Energy Rating (ER) scores with less glass.
HiLightR 802 on a double-glazed window can outperform many triple-glazed windows with
two Low-E coatings.
Cut the rate of heat loss by 18%
When you use HiLightR 802 as the interior pane of a double-glazed window, you can cut the
rate of heat loss (measured as u-factor) by an amazing 18% versus the 80/70 coating alone.
HiLightR 802 lets in sunlight and warmth while it insulates the home.
