THE CITY MAP
SEA
Best Time to visit
The weather is ideal from April through September, with the ocean regulating and cooling the city during the
hottest summer months. Winter, from the end of September through January, is still mild in temperature, but
rain showers are an almost daily occurrence during this monsoon season, along with occasional fierce storms
coming off the South China Sea. If you plan on visiting Da Nang in winter, be sure to pack an umbrella.

The best thing about Da Nang is its long and wide beach frontage stretching for kilometers from the Son Tra
Peninsula to Hội An. All along are white-sand beaches that are quiet for large parts of the day. At the southern
end, the main beaches are Non Nuoc, Pham Van Dong, My Khe, and My Anh. Of these, My Khe is the most
popular. It gets busy just before sunset when locals flock to its soft sand and clear water to swim or play
sports. There are many seafood restaurants and sky bars nearby, so you can go out for a sumptuous dinner or
sunset cocktail directly after.

Marble Mountains are located about 8km southeast from Danang
City center, along the coastal road between Danang and Hoian.
The Marble Mountains are a cluster of five limestone and marble
outcrops.
Even not as massive as huge mountains, Marble Mountains’ height
are still impressive in comparison with the flat floodplains of the
surrounding areas. Initially, these mountains were worshipping
sites of Cham peoples in Central Vietnam. After that, Buddhist
followers built shrines and temples at mountains’ summits and in
the caves.
When at any of these beaches, look left. You’ll see the beautiful
white Lady Buddha statue on the hill. At 67m, the Goddess of
Mercy is the tallest Buddha statue in the land. To see it up close,
head out to the Linh Ung Pagoda at Son Tra Peninsula, a nature
reserve about 10km north-east of the city. The Son Tra (Monkey)
Mountain protects the city from approaching sea storms. A hike or
ride to the top will reward you with stunning views. And you may
even spot the endangered Pygathrix nemaeus (red-shanked douc)
on the way up. The verdant rainforest surrounding the mountain
covers 4,000 hectares, making it a cool, lush alternative to the
beach on hot days.

Bana Hills, located 42km west of Danang city. It was first established as a resort by the French back in 1919.
While most of the villas were destroyed during the war, the Debay Wine Cellar still remains. Purchase tickets to
enter the hills in advance, to skip the queues. Your entry includes a round-tip on the impressive cable cars
going up and down the mountain. Once there, there are lots to see and do at the themed, castle-like Sun
World Amusement Park. Walk the flower gardens or French village; visit the Linh Ung temple; or play games at
the amusement park. Of course, many people go to take pictures of the famed Golden Bridge. This 150-meter-
long architectural marvel features two gigantic concrete hands elegantly holding a shiny gold walkway.
Impressive (and Insta-worthy) indeed.

Central Vietnam. The exhibits are statues, embossments, images, and patterns displayed in 10 rooms named
after the places where they were found.
The museum was firstly established in 1902 by French archaeologists and experts from L’École Francaise
d’Extrême Orient (EFEO).
Dragon Bridge get its fame by its unique design of a golden
dragon flying towards the sea with the architecture inspired
by Ly dynasty. The bridge has become an iconic image of
the City that visitors should not miss while in Danang.
Saturday and Sunday night, visitors will be impressed by the
dragon’s fire breathing and water spraying performance on
the bridge at 9 PM. Night time is when Dragon Bridge turns

The scenic 21km-long ‘Ocean Cloud’ pass is famous for many reasons. It’s one of the longest and highest in the
country. It was a strategic boundary during war times. And it separates the climates of the tropical south from
the subtropical north. Another reason it’s popular is that it’s easily accessible from Da Nang, Huế, and Hội An.
For an epic road trip, ride the pass for 165km between these three cities. Get up early to make a day of it. Or
break it up over a couple of days by overnighting en route.

honored and remunerated by the Kings.
To ensure the good quality of each mat, local artists carefully
select the old palm trees which are straight, lightweight and
strong to make reed and shuttle. Sedge and the fine knitting

measurements with attractive patterns to satisfy the requirements
of any customer.

AND WHERE
TO GET
THEM
This city offers various inexpensive traditional
dining options that any visitor must eat in
Danang. And in this article today, we will
guide you through the amazing dishes that
can satisfy even the most critical epicures.
Alex
Mi quang is Da Nang’s definitive dish, featuring rice noodles that are tinted
yellow using turmeric and bone broth seasoned with fish sauce, black pepper,
shallot, and garlic. Meat toppings include river shrimp, boiled quails eggs, and
roast pork, though some eateries use fish, chicken and beef slices.
Lastly, the ensemble is topped with an array of fresh herbs such as basil,
peanuts, coriander, lettuce, sliced banana flowers, and sesame rice crackers.
You can also opt for chilli peppers for a spicy kick to your bowl of mi quang.
FOOD AND CULTURE
1 Mi Quang – Quang Style Noodles
As its name implies, banh trang cuon thit heo, one of the foods that you must
eat in Danang, is the combination of tender pork and soft rice paper. Like many
other specialties of Vietnam, this dish comes with many herbs such as basils,
corianders, lettuces, and sliced cucumber. Thus, the fat of meat will be
balanced with the freshness and the sweet, spicy, sour, and salty fish sauce. For
a roll of this ensemble, you will need a little bit of finesse.
2 Banh trang cuon thit heo (Sliced pork in rice paper rolls)
Banh xeo is a savoury pancake that’s made of rice flour, coconut milk, and
turmeric. It's filled with various ingredients such as vermicelli noodles, chicken,
pork or beef slices, shrimps, sliced onions, beansprouts, and mushrooms. Usually
eaten as a snack or appetiser.
A great way to enjoy a crispy pancake is by wrapping it in mustard leaf, lettuce
leaves or rice papers together with nem lui (lemongrass pork skewers), mint
leaves, and basil. Don't forget to dip it in some fermented peanut sauce.

Nem lui is a traditional snack that originated from Hue, but is available in Da
Nang’s markets, street vendors, and Vietnamese restaurants. Also known as
lemongrass pork skewers, the meat is a mixture of milled pork, pigskin, pig oil,
salt, pepper, sugar, and a locally grown spice called thinh.
The skewers are grilled on a coal stove before being served with a side of rice
paper, fresh herbs and vegetables. As with any delicacy in Vietnam, you can
also add chilli slices and/or dip it in nuoc cham sauce for added flavour.
FOOD AND CULTURE
4 Nem lui (Lemongrass pork skewers)
A must-try dish that highlights the gift of the sea – seafood. The clear and
flavorful broth features a hint of sweetness and sourness from tomatoes,
pineapples, and local tamarind. The aroma is complemented by the season of
chopped green onion and cilantro on top. This soup is super delicious, fresh,
and will definitely give you a burst of flavor in your mouth.
5 Bun Cha Ca (fish cake noodle soup)
Bun mam nem is not a dish for everyone, but it is the dish that features the
highlight of Central Vietnam cuisine, which is salty and spicy. Quite similar to
banh trang cuon mentioned above in terms of ingredients, bun mam nem is a
bowl of rice vermicelli, roasted pork belly, crunchy boiled pork ears, cured beef,
green herbs, and roasted peanuts. As the name suggests, this combination is
dressed in fermented fish sauce, which is mixed with lime juice and chilies.
Fermented fish sauce has a strong smell which is not attractive to everyone. But
once you get familiar with the smell and the taste, this will be a sign that you
can hardly get anywhere else.

  • 1. DA NANG T R A V E L G U I D E GOLDEN BRIDGE Alex
  • 2. THE CITY MAP SEA Best Time to visit The weather is ideal from April through September, with the ocean regulating and cooling the city during the hottest summer months. Winter, from the end of September through January, is still mild in temperature, but rain showers are an almost daily occurrence during this monsoon season, along with occasional fierce storms coming off the South China Sea. If you plan on visiting Da Nang in winter, be sure to pack an umbrella. Alex
  • 3. The best thing about Da Nang is its long and wide beach frontage stretching for kilometers from the Son Tra Peninsula to Hội An. All along are white-sand beaches that are quiet for large parts of the day. At the southern end, the main beaches are Non Nuoc, Pham Van Dong, My Khe, and My Anh. Of these, My Khe is the most popular. It gets busy just before sunset when locals flock to its soft sand and clear water to swim or play sports. There are many seafood restaurants and sky bars nearby, so you can go out for a sumptuous dinner or sunset cocktail directly after. THE BEAUTIFUL BEACHES MARBLE MOUNTAINS SON TRA PENINSULA & LINH UNG PAGODAL 1 3 2 Marble Mountains are located about 8km southeast from Danang City center, along the coastal road between Danang and Hoian. The Marble Mountains are a cluster of five limestone and marble outcrops. Even not as massive as huge mountains, Marble Mountains’ height are still impressive in comparison with the flat floodplains of the surrounding areas. Initially, these mountains were worshipping sites of Cham peoples in Central Vietnam. After that, Buddhist followers built shrines and temples at mountains’ summits and in the caves. When at any of these beaches, look left. You’ll see the beautiful white Lady Buddha statue on the hill. At 67m, the Goddess of Mercy is the tallest Buddha statue in the land. To see it up close, head out to the Linh Ung Pagoda at Son Tra Peninsula, a nature reserve about 10km north-east of the city. The Son Tra (Monkey) Mountain protects the city from approaching sea storms. A hike or ride to the top will reward you with stunning views. And you may even spot the endangered Pygathrix nemaeus (red-shanked douc) on the way up. The verdant rainforest surrounding the mountain covers 4,000 hectares, making it a cool, lush alternative to the beach on hot days. Opening time: 6 AM – 9:30 PM Entrance fee: free Opening hours: 7 AM – 7 PM. Entrance fee: 40,000 VND/person. Alex MUST-VISIT PLACES IN DA NANG & & & Nearby Nearby Nearby
  • 4. Bana Hills, located 42km west of Danang city. It was first established as a resort by the French back in 1919. While most of the villas were destroyed during the war, the Debay Wine Cellar still remains. Purchase tickets to enter the hills in advance, to skip the queues. Your entry includes a round-tip on the impressive cable cars going up and down the mountain. Once there, there are lots to see and do at the themed, castle-like Sun World Amusement Park. Walk the flower gardens or French village; visit the Linh Ung temple; or play games at the amusement park. Of course, many people go to take pictures of the famed Golden Bridge. This 150-meter- long architectural marvel features two gigantic concrete hands elegantly holding a shiny gold walkway. Impressive (and Insta-worthy) indeed. BANA HILLS & GOLDEN BRIDGE MUSEUM OF CHAM SCULPTURE 4 5 The Museum of Cham Sculpture in Danang houses the largest exhibition of Cham sculpture in the world, with almost 300 original sandstone sculptures and some baked clay products ranging from the 7th to the 15th centuries, and collected from the temples and towers that lie scattered from Quang Binh to Binh Thuan in Central Vietnam. The exhibits are statues, embossments, images, and patterns displayed in 10 rooms named after the places where they were found. The museum was firstly established in 1902 by French archaeologists and experts from L’École Francaise d’Extrême Orient (EFEO). Dragon Bridge get its fame by its unique design of a golden dragon flying towards the sea with the architecture inspired by Ly dynasty. The bridge has become an iconic image of the City that visitors should not miss while in Danang. Saturday and Sunday night, visitors will be impressed by the dragon’s fire breathing and water spraying performance on the bridge at 9 PM. Night time is when Dragon Bridge turns into a vivid dragon with a dazzling light effect created by 15,000 LED lights. DRAGON BRIDGE 6 Opening hours: 7 AM – 10 PM. Entrance fee: 750,000 VND/ adult – 600,000 VND/ child (1m – 1m40). Opening hours: 7 AM – 5 PM. Entrance fee: 60,000 VND/ person. Alex
  • 5. The scenic 21km-long ‘Ocean Cloud’ pass is famous for many reasons. It’s one of the longest and highest in the country. It was a strategic boundary during war times. And it separates the climates of the tropical south from the subtropical north. Another reason it’s popular is that it’s easily accessible from Da Nang, Huế, and Hội An. For an epic road trip, ride the pass for 165km between these three cities. Get up early to make a day of it. Or break it up over a couple of days by overnighting en route. HAI VAN PASS 7 MY SON SANCTUARY 8 My Son Sanctuary is located in the mountainous border Duy Xuyen District of Quang Nam Province (50 km - 01 hour from Da Nang). Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site, the My Son Holy Site hosts the abandoned ruins of Vietnam’s ancient Champa civilization that once occupied southern Vietnam. My Son depicts intricate carvings of various Hindu gods and makes an informative, fascinating day trip. Don’t miss the opportunity to learn about this ancient kingdom and explore the overgrown ruins surrounded by mountains. Opening hours: 06:30 AM – 05:30 PM. Entrance fee: 150,000 VND/person. DA NANG CATHEDRAL - The Pink Church 9 Danang Cathedral was built in 1923 by French priest Louis Vallet, and officially opened to public in March 1924 with the purpose of serving the French Catholics who lived in Danang at that time. And it was the only church built in Danang during the French colonial period. Alex
  • 6. BA NA HILLS GOLF CLUB 10 CAM NE SEDGE MAT MAKING VILLAGE 11 Cam Ne sedge mat making village is situated in Hoa Tien Commune, Hoa Vang District, about 15km southwest of Danang City. As its name suggests, the village is well known for its traditional floral sedge mats. Cam Ne’s mats were used in royal palace of Nguyen Dynasty and the mat making artists were honored and remunerated by the Kings. To ensure the good quality of each mat, local artists carefully select the old palm trees which are straight, lightweight and strong to make reed and shuttle. Sedge and the fine knitting frame are used to produce a lot of flowered sedge mats of all measurements with attractive patterns to satisfy the requirements of any customer. NAM O FISH SAUCE MAKING VILLAGE 12 Nam O fish sauce making village was found in the early 20th century as a small fishing village at the estuary of Cu De River, at the foot of Hai Van Pass. Only 30-minute drive north west of downtown Danang City, the village is famous for the high quality of fish sauce and its long tradition of making that product with a history of more than 400 years. Bana Hills Golf Club, which was designed by Luke Donald and managed by IMG, is a world class golf course located at the foothills of the famed Bana Hills on Vietnam’s central coast and less than 30-minute drive from Danang City center. Unlike other golf courses in the region, Bana Hills Golf Club is not near the coastal area but set among the most impressive mountain ranges and in a cooler setting typically void of wind. The par 72, 18-hole Championship golf course provides a balance of challenge, enjoyment and excitement to golfers of all levels and abilities with 5 sets of tees to ensure golfers of all standards a pleasurable round of golf. Alex

  • 9. TASTE OF DA NANG FOOD AND CULTURE MUST-TRY FOODS IN DA NANG AND WHERE TO GET THEM This city offers various inexpensive traditional dining options that any visitor must eat in Danang. And in this article today, we will guide you through the amazing dishes that can satisfy even the most critical epicures. Alex
  • 10. Mi quang is Da Nang’s definitive dish, featuring rice noodles that are tinted yellow using turmeric and bone broth seasoned with fish sauce, black pepper, shallot, and garlic. Meat toppings include river shrimp, boiled quails eggs, and roast pork, though some eateries use fish, chicken and beef slices. Lastly, the ensemble is topped with an array of fresh herbs such as basil, peanuts, coriander, lettuce, sliced banana flowers, and sesame rice crackers. You can also opt for chilli peppers for a spicy kick to your bowl of mi quang. FOOD AND CULTURE 1 Mi Quang – Quang Style Noodles As its name implies, banh trang cuon thit heo, one of the foods that you must eat in Danang, is the combination of tender pork and soft rice paper. Like many other specialties of Vietnam, this dish comes with many herbs such as basils, corianders, lettuces, and sliced cucumber. Thus, the fat of meat will be balanced with the freshness and the sweet, spicy, sour, and salty fish sauce. • 11. Nem lui is a traditional snack that originated from Hue, but is available in Da Nang’s markets, street vendors, and Vietnamese restaurants. Also known as lemongrass pork skewers, the meat is a mixture of milled pork, pigskin, pig oil, salt, pepper, sugar, and a locally grown spice called thinh. The skewers are grilled on a coal stove before being served with a side of rice paper, fresh herbs and vegetables. As with any delicacy in Vietnam, you can also add chilli slices and/or dip it in nuoc cham sauce for added flavour. FOOD AND CULTURE 4 Nem lui (Lemongrass pork skewers) A must-try dish that highlights the gift of the sea – seafood. The clear and flavorful broth features a hint of sweetness and sourness from tomatoes, pineapples, and local tamarind. The aroma is complemented by the season of chopped green onion and cilantro on top. This soup is super delicious, fresh, and will definitely give you a burst of flavor in your mouth. 5 Bun Cha Ca (fish cake noodle soup) Bun mam nem is not a dish for everyone, but it is the dish that features the highlight of Central Vietnam cuisine, which is salty and spicy. Quite similar to banh trang cuon mentioned above in terms of ingredients, bun mam nem is a bowl of rice vermicelli, roasted pork belly, crunchy boiled pork ears, cured beef, green herbs, and roasted peanuts. As the name suggests, this combination is dressed in fermented fish sauce, which is mixed with lime juice and chilies. Fermented fish sauce has a strong smell which is not attractive to everyone. But once you get familiar with the smell and the taste, this will be a sign that you can hardly get anywhere else. 6 Bun mam nem BANH XEO NHUNG.
