Our Service is Essential
1. I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the
mercies of God, that ye present your bodies
a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God,
which is your reasonable service.
Romans 12:1-13
2. Romans 12:1-13
2 And be not conformed to this world:
but be ye transformed by the renewing
of your mind, that ye may prove what is
that good, and acceptable, and perfect,
will of God.
3. Romans 12:1-13
3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to
every man that is among you, not to think of
himself more highly than he ought to think;
but to think soberly, according as God hath
dealt to every man the measure of faith.
4. Romans 12:1-13
4 For as we have many members in one
body, and all members have not the
same office: 5 So we, being many, are
one body in Christ, and every one
members one of another.
5. Romans 12:1-13
6 Having then gifts differing according
to the grace that is given to us, whether
prophecy, let us prophesy according to
the proportion of faith;
6. Romans 12:1-13
7 Or ministry, let us wait on our
ministering: or he that teacheth, on
teaching;
7. Romans 12:1-13
8Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation:
he that giveth, let him do it with
simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence;
he that sheweth mercy, with
cheerfulness.
8. Romans 12:1-13
9 Let love be without dissimulation.
Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that
which is good.
9. Romans 12:1-13
10 Be kindly affectioned one to another
with brotherly love; in honour
preferring one another;
10. Romans 12:1-13
11 Not slothful in business; fervent in
spirit; serving the Lord; 12 Rejoicing in
hope; patient in tribulation; continuing
instant in prayer;
17. Romans 13: 4-5
For as we have many members in one
body, and all members have not the same
office: 5 So we, being many, are one body in
Christ, and every one members one of
another.
19. The human body serves as a great
illustration as to the workings,
plans, and potential of the Church.
20. A believer is to think wisely about
himself and what his function is to be
in the body of Christ. Every Christian
should have a proper sense of humility
and an awareness of his need to be
involved with other members of
Christâs body.
22. Romans 13:4
For as we have many members in
one body, and all members have
not the same office:
23. Systems that make up the human body
1. Cardiovascular System
2. Circulatory System
3. Digestive System
4. Immune System
5. Muscular System
6. Nervous System
7. Reproductive System
8. Respiratory System
9. Skeletal System
10. Urinary System
24. Unity in the church requires each of us serving
our specific purpose and working together.
Every part of the body, will serve its purpose
and is beneficial to the rest of the body.
25. Every part of Christâs body is
needful, useful and profitable.
29. I Corinthians 12:12-21
For as the body is one, and hath many
members, and all the members of that
one body, being many, are one body: so
also is Christ.
30. I Corinthians 12:12-21
14 For the body is not one member, but
many. 15 If the foot shall say, Because I
am not the hand, I am not of the body;
is it therefore not of the body?
31. I Corinthians 12:12-21
16 And if the ear shall say, Because I am
not the eye, I am not of the body; is it
therefore not of the body?
32. I Corinthians 12:12-21
17 If the whole body were an eye, where
were the hearing? If the whole were
hearing, where were the smelling?
33. I Corinthians 12:12-21
18 But now hath God set the members
every one of them in the body, as it
hath pleased him.
34. I Corinthians 12:12-21
19 And if they were all one member,
where were the body? 20 But now are
they many members, yet but one body.
35. I Corinthians 12:12-21
21 And the eye cannot say unto the
hand, I have no need of thee: nor again
the head to the feet, I have no need of
you.
36. The parts of the human body work together as
one, with a dependent mutuality as each part
fulfils an important function.
Every part of the body has a duty and all parts
come together for the good of the whole.
39. A. The Gifts Are According
to Godâs Grace
Romans 13: 6
40. 1 Corinthians 15:10
But by the grace of God I am what I am: and
his grace which was bestowed upon me was not
in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than
they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which
was with me.
41. B. The Gifts Are Given for
Godâs Glory
Romans 13: 11
45. Romans 13:6-8
Having then gifts differing according to
the grace that is given to us, whether
prophecy, let us prophesy according to
the proportion of faith;
46. Romans 13:6-8
7 Or ministry, let us wait on our
ministering: or he that teacheth, on
teaching;
47. Romans 13:6-8
8 Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he
that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he
that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth
mercy, with cheerfulness.
48. â˘Humility requires that we each function
within the area of our own gifts for the
benefit of the whole body.
â˘No parts of the body are unimportant and
none should be left out!
49. Do what God gifted you to do and leave
others to do what God gifted them to do!
Figure out what your gift is and devote
yourself to honouring God with that gift!
60. Romans 11-13
Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit;
serving the Lord; 12 Rejoicing in hope;
patient in tribulation; continuing instant in
prayer; 13 Distributing to the necessity of
saints; given to hospitality.
61. 1. Fervent in Spirit - not lazy, but working hard Serving the
Lord, and working enthusiastically.
2. Patient in tribulation - Trials do not excuse a lack of
love in the body of Christ or a lack of willingness to do His
work.
3. Distributing to the necessity of the saints -When
Godâs people are in need, be ready to help them.
4. Given to hospitality - Always be eager to practice
hospitality.
