1. So I started this transit commute thing three weeks ago. In that time frame, especially prior to starting my little blog, there have been some awesome bus stories that I haven’t had the chance to tell you about yet. 10
3. The 10. The 10 outbound is the bus that goes by my apartment and ends at Arts Center. Me and this bus, we’re getting tight. Loads of things happen on this bus. One time, we stopped on 75 to pick up another 10 load of passengers who had broken down on the exit ramp. I can’t imagine having to walk along 75! One time, the bus driver opened up his window and cussed out the driver of a pick-up truck who had cut him off. Personally, I would have just hit the pick up. The first time I missed the 10b inbound I didn’t know about the 50, and we missed the 15 cause we were running late, so I walked from Cobb Parkway down Windy Hill to my office. That day really sucked.
4. The 50, inbound. So I had a meeting up in North Cobb, which required me taking the 50 up Powers Ferry to the 65 down Roswell. No problem, right? Well I go down to catch the bus, getting there just in time. And then, I wait. And wait. And wait. The 50 was 12 minutes late. Having a bus that’s 12 minutes late does not a happy Ashley make, not when she has to transfer at the Big Chicken and only has a 20 minute window in which to do so. But I can’t be mad, traffic was bad.
5. Actually, no, I can be mad, cause that bus driver sucked! Worst one I’ve had on CCT, to be honest. Not only did she run a on Delk, but she did so while eating a That’s right folks, I now carry my camera with me so I can take pictures of this nonsense. MARTA catches h*ll for having texting operators, but apparently no one’s reporting on CCT. Too bad I didn’t have my camera that day, and the one on my phone doesn’t work. By the time I got to the Big Chicken, I had missed the 65. PS – the 65 runs once an hour. I called a cab because I didn’t really feel like waiting on the side of 120 for an hour. Can’t these buses coordinate when they’re behind schedule? They have radios, this shouldn’t be too hard.
6.
7. I get yelled at, kinda often. The bus drivers don’t seem to appreciate me putting my feet up on the seat in front of me. I feel like if no one’s there, it’s free game. Not liked I stepped in dog poopie.
8. One says that there are cameras on the CCT buses that will record if the driver pushes a button or slams on the breaks or swerves. I think this is rather cool. I wonder if they can tell when the bus driver runs a red light?
9. I now have two commuting friends, one on the bus, and one on the train. It’s a cool concept to see people regularly. I mean, Bus Girl and I use the same stop, but Train Dude and I just seem to run into one another on the East line.
