5. Lyrics Page 1
She said oh my, I don't know why
I was just busy watching everyone go by
Outside the shite bar, and you're a red car
Me and your girlfriend and your sister with
the big scar
I said oh Christ, I told you twice
It's just not easy going through all these
things thrice
What's this I once heard? You drive a
bluebird?
You got no money for the petrol, that's
what I heard
And it's all right, she'll be sucking fingers
all night
Wearing those shoes, oh any excuse to go
to the gang fight
And oh she's alright, everybody says she's
uptight
Sick in the head, first in the bed
So easy to be Friday's nightmare
I said oh no, oh please just go
You got no eyelids and sweet ella loves me
so
She got my number, though I can't stand
her
I can't help diggin her a hope I guess I
wonder
And oh it's clear, you want me dear
It would be easier if I was never here
You got the money, and I got the reason,
I'll stick around with you for just another
season
6. Lyrics Page 2
And it's alright, she'll be sucking fingers
all night
Wearing those shoes, oh any excuse to
go to the gang fight
And oh she's alright, everybody says
she's uptight
Sick in the head, first in the bed
So easy to be Friday's nightmare
She's just getting along,
So don't tell me she's yours
Oh please tell me I'm wrong again
It's all in a daze/day,
So what can you say
Just; sleep in yer shoes
With the winterbox blues
Any time you choose, Oh yeah
She said oh my, I don't know why
I was just busy watching everyone go by
Outside the shite bar, and you're a red car
Me and your girlfriend and your sister with
the big scar
She said oh Christ, I told you twice
It's just not easy going through all these
things thrice
What's this I once heard? You drive a
bluebird?
You got no money for the petrol, that's
what I heard
And it's alright, she'll be sucking fingers all
night
Wearing those shoes, oh any excuse to go
to the gang fight
And oh she's alright, everybody says she's
uptight
Sick in the head, first in the bed
So easy to be Friday's wonder
7. Narrative Ideas
A girl who is a productive member of society by
day and a druggie by night
Matches “Fridays Nightmare” to “Fridays
Wonder” Lyric
Physically transforms through a ‘tunnel’
(possibly made from tinfoil)
8. Performance Ideas
A room wrapped completely in tin foil
Mirrors everywhere to symbolise reflection (leading a
double life)
Other silvery objects such as spoons (could symbolise
drugs: meth) and links in with the theme of drug addicts
(stealing) as well as our band name of The Magpies.
We have homemade smoke machines for smoke and
mirrors imagery.
Band members will swap positions throughout the
performance to keep the audience engaged.
9. Recurring Motifs and Symbols
Tin Foil is going to be the recurring object in the music
video
It will be used in the performance but also in the
narrative to link the two together.
For example and old TV will be wrapped in tin foil that
will display the band playing in the narrative part. This
links with Goodwin's theory of music videos with the
notion of looking.
10. Casting
Cory Luther
Girl in Narrative
Joe Lambton
Guitarist
Sam Aves
Lead
Aidan Elliott
Drums
Jack Mullen
Bass
11. Killer Shots
Cory would have to climb through a literal tin foil
covered tunnel (cardboard box?) in order to get from
the daytime to the night-time
For the line “I was just busy watching everyone go by”
a time lapse from an over the shoulder or even POV
shot.
There could be a clip where Cory is walking with
someone around a corner in the night-time which then
it cuts to the daytime and she is alone much like in
Hozier’s Someone New video with Natalie Dormer
12. Costume
Edgy Young Persons Clothing
On night time Darker Clothes – Ropey – Dark
Makeup
During Day – Clean Cut but still Indie
Band Image – Either Suits, All Black Clothing or
Casual/Indie
