Beer is: The world's most widely consumed alcoholic beverage in the world. One of the oldest alcoholic beverage created going back thousands of years. Third most popular drink behind water and tea. Made with four ingredients, water, barley, hops, and brewers yeast.
history Dating back to the early Neolithic era (9500 BC) and recorded by the Egyptians and Mesopotamia, some archaeologists believe that beer was instrumental in the rise of civilizations.
Beer Types There are many different types of beers ranging in color and flavor.  The different types are made through certain brewing techniques such as Lagers, which in German means “cold storage”. This gives the beer certain characteristics.
economy In some cultures, beer was used as currency. For example, it is believed that the Egyptians paid some of the pyramid builders in beer.
Politics Beer is very important in U.S. politics.  There are more lobbyists for beer than guns and tobacco combined, and in 2010 there was over $20,000,000 spent in Washington for beer lobbying.
