Future Ownership in China, 2022

  1. OWNERSHIP IN CHINA 2022
  2. POPULATION:1.4 BILLION2022POPULATION:1.34 BILLION2012POPULATION:700 MILLION2050Today in 2022, the population of Chinahas increased to 1.4 billion. Comparedto 20 years ago it has growndramatically slow. It is said that in thenear future the total population will begoing down and in the year 2050 thenumber of people will shrink to 700million only, which will be just half oftoday.
  3. SENIOR CITIZENS :250 MILLION2022SENIOR CITIZENS:210 MILLION205020%30%As the baby boomers are getting older, the older people are emerging as a largegroup. Today there are 250 million seniorcitizens living in China, which is almostone fifth of the total population of thecountry. And according to the estimations, this number will grow even faster in theupcoming 30 years, and in 2050 it will stopgrowing by the percentage of nearly 30%of the total.of 1.4 BILLION700 MILLION
  4. EXPORTING• RESOURCES• LABORS• EXPORTING LOCAL PRODUCT• STIMULATE DOMESTIC DEMANDAs the aging population wasconstantly increasing in last ten years, the labor of China cannot support itsvast exports of foreign brandsanymore. And it forced thegovernment started to transfer theeconomic structure from exportingthe labor and resources, especiallythe rare earth, to exporting the localproduct, mainly about the high-techproducts, stimulating the domesticdemand..LABOR
  5. MADE IN CHINACREATE IN CHINAAnd in 2017, China has basically accomplished theplan, “from made in China to create in China”. Thishad made the economy of China increase moreefficiently.
  6. ONE-CHILD POLICYTWO-CHILD POLICYAlso in 2017, in order to keep the balance ofyoung and old, instead of the One Childpolicy which had been using for more thanthirty years, the Chinese governmentadjusted the policy into two children.
  7. CHANGING OFFAMILY STRUCTURE• HIGHER LIVING EXPANDS• CHANGING PURCHASINGVALUESToday in one typical family, there are fourgrandparents, a mid-aged couple and plus twochildren. As the dramatic increasing of the economy and thetwo child policy, the life of people in China now haschanged a lot. For the average adult has to supportfour people in the family. In the household peoplepurchase more toys, books, nutritions as well asthe health care equipments for senior members. Now a family with more than one car is not a bignews any more for there are more members infamily too. The stressed living pressure influencespeople not to purchase randomly but considermore about practical, maintenance and durability.
  8. • HIGHER URBANIZATION• GROWING TERTIARYINDUSTRYBLURRINGCITY BOUNDARYFor city planning, the government started to investin developing the outlying areas of the big cities.More and more high efficient transportationfacilities have been built, which blurred theboundary of city and suburb. People living incountryside have more similar life with the urbanpeople, and with the better transportation, theyhave better chance to travel a lot easier with lesscost. The tertiary industry like travelling is animportant part in people’s lives as well as pushingthe economy going high. Compared to the situationin 2012, the cities are no longer crowded like thebeehive, but more becoming a center of social andcommunication.
  9. GDP30,000 billion dollarsThe situation is much better than it was in 2012. The GDPnow has almost reached 30,000 billion dollars which istwo times higher compared to 2012. Now, there is morebudget for the government to invest in social security andconstruction of the new type of community that is morecomfortable and environment friendly. Especially, a lotof communities for senior citizens have been set up withlatest technologies, medical services and the elderlyfriendly facilities to relieve the pressure given by the agingpopulation. Also, much more money has been put inimproving the education, which has made the Chinesepeople have a different value compared to the past.People are more likely to care about the real value of theproducts than the price and the brand. In car markets, thecompact vehicle is very popular for its practicalmaintenance and efficiency.
  10. GUIDING THE STRATEGYOF COMPANIESFEMALEPURCHASING POWERThe female buyers are playing more powerfulrole in the market. Compared to before, thefemale buyers are more likely to buy the carswhich is specifically customized for them butnot the family sedan. They are now havingmore power to make the decision.
  11. All these excellent situations are due to the successful transformation of theChinese economic structure, which have been already executed since 2012. As theaging population trend from what we saw ten years ago, the labor population ofChina was getting smaller and smaller. The labor could not be the advantage ofChina anymore. Therefore, the government started to put a great amount ofmoney in developing the products of self-directed innovation, especially the high-tech products which has been the dominance in the global market. Now China has been one of the most developed countries in the world. Theeconomy is not mainly supported by the exported products of OEM (originalequipment manufacturer) but the exported products of OBM (original brandmanufacturer) from China and the domestic demand which have much higherprofit. Indeed, this is a strategy which have already been executed in Taiwan tenyears ago. Taiwan is well known for its high-tech manufacturing for several decadesand also have great experiences in transforming from OEM to OBM. ManyTaiwanese own brand companies had already extended their market to MainlandChina. So the successful transformation of the economic structure in China cannotleave behind the effect from Taiwan.
  12. PEACEFULAGREEMENTIn 2022, China and Taiwan are under a Peacefulagreement which is that there are two governments andtwo countries under a General Big China. The interactionof the economy between Taiwan and Mainland Chinahave been being closely bonded and intimate since 2008that KMT became the political party in power in Taiwan.Recalling back to 2008, that was a year the globalfinancial crisis exploded. Instead of touching the sensitivenational dominion issue between two sides, thegovernments started to gradually open the interactionbetween Mainland China and Taiwan in these past years.
  13. Now, Taiwan and Mainland China has become noboundary. The direct flight has been openedsince 2008, also the cross-strait bridge and highspeed railway had already built in 2017. Theownership of the region has totally changed.NO BOUNDARY
  14. ONE-DAY LIVINGCOMMUNITYTaiwan and Mainland China has become a one-dayliving community which people are now travelinground-trip from Shanghai to Taipei in one day. Therefore, more and more tourists are travelingbetween two sides, it is really a great help onTaiwan’s tertiary industry growing.
  15. MAJOR DRIVING FORCEThe Taiwan and Mainland China corporation has notjust stayed in economics and politics, but alsoinfluence various different sectors includingeducation and technological research. China hasalready established itself as a major driving force intechnical innovation and especially in high-techrelated industries. It was mostly contributed to thenatural resources it processed and a series oftechnology cooperation between Taiwan andMainland China.TECH INNOVATION &HI-TECH RELATED INDUSTRIESIN
  16. RARE EARTH MINERALChina was the largest supplier in global rare earthmineral. But for a long time the country has nevertaken full advantage of that. Private mining washampering the resources in a very disorganized way. This is because the mineral product was mostlyexported as very primitive products. As the stockingavailable is declining in a very rapidly pace, Chinadecide to take action in protecting the resources.
  17. LIMITED EXPORTELIMINATE EXPORTDue to the decreasing amount of the mineralresources, in 2012 China started to limit its exportof rare earth mineral. And in 2017 it started a tradeunion of the rare earth minerals. And finally in 2022China has stopped exporting rare earth mineralresources to other foreign markets. Another majorfactor that contribute to these series of policychange is the rising demand for renewable energysolutions. Which force most of the resource goes tothe domestic market.
  18. RENEWABLETECHNOLOGYDuring that period, with the more tightlyeconomical integration with the Taiwan region,China gain a major improvement in terms oftechnical innovations in the renewable energydevelopment. With the advantage at hand Chinagreatly encourage consumers to switch toalternative energy vehicles and products.
  19. LEVERAGE OFCONSUMERSAs for the export, the country began to shift fromlow end pre-processed material to more technicalintensive consumer products. As the number ofeligible workforce is shrinking, the job market alsoshifts from labor intensive to more technicalintensive, which leverage individual’s purchasingpower. This in the end also help their ownership ofdomestic product.
