2. Genre and Plot
Genre
The song I have decided to create music video for is “Doo Wop” by
Lauryn Hill. It is of R&B genre just like the rest of her music.
Plot
I wanted to challenge conventions of R&B as they typically objectify
women and therefore go against the meaning of the song and it’s
message. The plot will be based around a couple of women, about 4,
that are going about their day and undertaking normal everyday
tasks. Every so often they will hold up cards with some lyrics that stand
out and show that they stand by it. I chose a song that respects
women and also advices them to make smarter choices and not be
objectified by men.
