2.  Luis Ernesto Miramontes Cárdenas (1925 -
2004) , inventor of the first oral
contraceptive , it was a Mexican chemist
born in Tepic , Nayarit on March 16, 1925
and died in Mexico City on 13 September
2004 . He studied high school in the
National Preparatory School, UNAM,
Degree in Chemical Engineering at UNAM,
and was research co - founder of the
Institute of Chemistry of the same
university, conducting research in the area
of organic chemistry.
