The power to take decisions in the youth’s hand.<br />Living Standard<br />Roti Kapda Makan – the Best clothes, Huge House, a car – A house at juhu and colaba, merc & bmw, rolex & Armani and……<br />This shows the living standard of people from generation to generation<br />This also shows the wants of the people - <br />I am Happy with what I have – I am Satisfied – I want more and I want the best. <br />Satisfaction- Competition – Greed <br />People do want more and they need the best in their lives… <br />Professionalism and Individualism<br />Doctor do anything and please save my son’s life (Keep Faith in god) – <br />Doctor will you be able to save my son’s life? (God will surely save your son) – <br />I want the best neurosurgeon to operate on my son. (Do not worry we will do our best and will come out with your son smiling with us.)<br />This depicts the emerging professionalism required in different fields of work for getting the best results.<br />Pay me whatever you feel is ok – <br />These are my fixed rates, 50% percent in advance, 50% after the work is completed and do not worry I will give you the best quality work.<br />This is the rate card, the term of payment are on the backside if you agree to it then pay the 50% advance and I will start your work or else you have to see another person.<br />This shows Individualism to that people do charge high rates for giving that high quality of work. People are becoming selfish. Eg. Actors being paid enormously huge amounts for acting in films<br />Culture and Family<br />We can’t love each other – we love each other and we will marry each other – May be we love each other, we should get into a live in situation and then if things work out well we can always marry each other.<br />I have to marry within my caste – I can marry within my community – I love this girl and I am going to marry her.<br />Joint Families – Small Families – Nuclear Families<br />Babuji Aapne khana khaya – Dad will you have food with me? – Pops I am having my lunch<br />This shows the speed of today’s youth it does not have time for anyone. They do not like to elaborate on things and like to keep it as short as possible.<br />Ram you have to be home by 7pm sharp. – Ram will you please come home by 10pm latest. – Mom will be home tomorrow afternoon.<br />This shows how the principles have been changing in the Indian Society. Today’s youth likes to spend more time socializing with friends.<br />Other Areas<br />Doing it on our own– Other people doing it – Machines doing it<br />This marks the high usage of technology for every little activity and making it easier for the human beings to live a speedy and relaxed life.<br />We played cricket in the evening at OVAL -  hey let’s play the cricket 2000 on the pc – That’s a six (Playing an online cricket game) <br />Today’s Generation is becoming more and more tech savvy and has the access to the internet at any point of time; they play online games, keep updating their activities and so on. E.g., Bollywood Celebs Using Twitter.<br />Have a 9am – 6pm Job – Doing a Job and plus a part time small business – Have a huge settled business making a turnover of ten million annually.<br />This is the change in the JOB scenario, Movies like GURU motivate a lot of people do something big at their job or in their own business.<br />Women = Kitchen – Women = Home Business and Family – Women = Everywhere & Everything<br />Indianism- Adaption to Modernization - Adoption of Westernization – Rising Indianism with using the positive side of modernization and westernization<br />
