2. Introduction
• There are 3 important factors in recording
drums
• 1. Your drum set
• 2. Your microphones
• 3. Your environment
• I'm going to go over all of these
3. Your Drums
• Keep your heads tuned
• Adjust and move to your likings,stay
comfortable.
• Make sure your drum set has at least an
hour to adjust to tempature and humidity.
• Warmup and practice material.
4. Your Microphones
• The type of microphone is important.
• Condensor microphones are vital for the
cymbals.
• Dynamic microphones are useful for the
snare,toms,& bass drum.
• Placement of microphones are important
as well. listen where it sounds the best.
5. Your Environment
• Climate is important. It can affect your
sound and can even damage your drums.
• Try to keep your drums in a cool,dry area
and let drums adapt to new climates.
• Make sure you have working cables, try to
buy the best quality cables you can buy.
• A good solid interface is important. Buy a
interface that suits all your needs.
6. Reflection
So remember the three basics, Drums,microphones,& Environment.
Also remember to experiment to find the best sound.
