Theme: The Role of Education in Building a human character

                                              Science and Moral Balance

Education is a conscious and deliberate create an atmosphere of learning and the learning process
so that learners are actively developing the potential for him to have spiritual strength, intelligence, noble
character, and the necessary skills themselves, society, nation and state. Character is related to moral
force, connotes 'positive', not neutral. Thus, the 'character' is a person who has the moral qualities (some)
positive. Thus, the character education, it implicitly means make a trait or behavior pattern that is based
on or related to the moral dimensions of the positive and the good, not the negative or bad.

With the race on the above understanding, it can be connected that education is a big influence on
the formation of character by itself will give birth to independence and other properties that can make us
more able to learn more mature. But since all that does not come naturally, it is necessary the existence of
a teaching staff that will determine the direction the character of the nation. And still it back to how the
child is to receive and digest the contents of everything delivered by educators for them.

Terminology of education is different from teaching. The difference lies in the realm of the
'touched' by education and teaching. In terms of teaching the teachers only give limited knowledge in the
realm of knowledge to the students. While in terms of education, the teacher gives science in the realm of
knowledge, feelings, attitudes and actions.

Therefore how the importance of a balance between intellect and character, because education is
not merely impart knowledge but also to hone the moral affections so as to produce works for the benefit
of mankind. And education can be found not only in schools, but also in our environment that we are
more likely to reflect all that we get from formal education, ranging from science, to how our own
characters will be seen from our association in the community. And it will be a separate option for us,
whether we will be good in the eyes of family, community, environment, and especially to Allah? Or
maybe the opposite? Yes, it all depends on our own. So the Intelligence plus character, that is the ultimate
goal of true education.
