This document appears to be a photography portfolio for Richie Cobb III from the 2013-2014 school year. It includes 55 photos exploring different techniques like vantage point, rule of thirds, texture, line, and more. There are also photos from assignments on color shoots, sense of place, analog prints, friends and family, and visual journal entries exploring different photographers' styles. The concluding passages reflect on how Richie has grown as a photographer over the year to consider more visual elements in his work and appreciate the learning experience.
57. WHY I SHOT WHAT I DID
My favorite activity or hobby in life is sports. I often attend many sporting
events. I attend mostly baseball, basketball, and football. My team in all
of the sports is the Boston Red Sox. In order to see them play, I have to
travel down to Baltimore to see them play the Orioles. In the last 2 years
I have seen 11 games. I shot those pictures for my sense of place photo
shoot because I feel belonging there.
82. HOW I’VE GROWN AS A PHOTOGRAPHER
At the beginning of the year, I didn’t know that much about photography
and the terms that go along with it . I didn’t think words like “depth” or
“abstraction” were involved in photography. When I used to take a
picture, I would just focus it and take the picture. Now when I take a
picture, I look at different visual elements such as “vantage point”, “rule
of thirds”, and “texture”. This year in photography, I learned so much
about taking photos, developing photos, and editing photos.
83. QUOTE ABOUT PHOTOGRAPHY
“The camera is an instrument that teaches people how to see without a
camera.”
