As requested, I can vouch, for all intents and purposes of the present candidature, that the
holder of a Master’s Degree, Ricardo Luís Rodrigues Freitas Calado, has the necessary
qualifications to exercise the position of teacher of mathematics with competence,
professionalism and dedication.
During the school year 2011/2012 I had the privilege of accompanying Ricardo Luís
Rodrigues Freitas Calado as mentor in the Supervised Teaching Practice under the
Protocol of Collaboration celebrated between the Escola Secundária (Secondary School)
Jorge Peixinho and the Faculty of Sciences and Technology of the Universidade Nova of
Lisbon.
In the lessons he taught, 7th
. and 11th
. years, he showed a high level of scientific
knowledge in the preparation, planning and presentation of the contents so as to facilitate
understanding. The aims of the lessons were always explicit and the verification of
learning was always effected. He used an audible, clear and understandable language
without losing the scientific accuracy and made use of all the potential resources
available.
He was dedicated in participating in the motivation of the project A Escola e as Famílias
(The School and the Families) the principal aim of which is to raise the level of
participation of parents and guardians in the school.
Besides witnessing his scientific and teaching qualities, I must also refer to his excellent
character shown regarding both the rapport with the colleagues integrated in the Training
Nucleus and also the relationship he established with pupils and the entire educational
community. Thus, given the professional and teaching capabilities allied to the humane,
generous and supportive profile, I can only recommend the candidate.
