Favorite Place
Where I am most happy is a natural destination that most people vacation at. Since I live in
Minnesota this destination is also a vacation place for me but one day I would like it to be my home or
live near it. This destination spot I will be describing is most likely somewhere around the islands but I
just haven’t found it yet. This spot is special to me because I have no worries and issues to deal with,
and my mind is free. I admire and take in every detail around me and it makes me smile and feel great to
be alive.
This destination has beautiful mountains around a small island with and the mountains are grayish black
and look like charcoal with green patches around them and at the bottom of them. From the green
patches it leads into a sparkling sand beach with random boulders stuck in the sand. Then you look out
at the beautiful blue ocean that looks never-ending, with the white of the wave coming up to your feet
to cool them off from the warm sand. Near the shoreline to the outside of the island are reefs with
many colorful fish living there. There is one single fishing boat on the shore that has been so beaten up
its put together by wood and duct tape. There is a hidden dock around the bend of the island that goes
out to the water for about ten feet that is covered in seagull poop. There is one shack looking house not
too far from the shore. The paint is flaking off of it and it has a porch wrapped around the whole shack
with big windows around each side of the house. A brand new looking surf boards are leaning up against
the shack with some life jackets and floatation devices.
What I like to do in my favorite place is surf all day and play in the water, and be a beach bum and lay in
the sun to soak in my vitamin C. Sometimes early in the morning when the fish and sea creatures are

looking for food I go and snorkel to see colorful and amazing creatures. I Make materials out of the
resources on the island such as a table or chai, I teach myself how to make delicious meals with fruit and
fish. When it’s not too hot out I take my fishing boat out and catch some big fish or at least try. At night
time I make a camp fire and get my guitar out and play songs from my favorite artists and make up my
own music as well.
Every morning I wake up the sun is peaking through the curtains on my face and I can hear the rushing
water of the waves and the birds singing. What I remember the most in the morning is the smell of clean
fresh air, salty water, and green moss on the rocks. Those smells make me so happy to be in my favorite
place and make me never want to leave. The feeling of waking up to sunshine and a full day of activities
that I love to do is ecstatic and makes me feel great.
I like living in my favorite place by myself but I wouldn’t mind at all if my family or close friends came to
stay for a while. I just wouldn’t want a bunch of tourists and foreigners. This place has no special
significant it is just a place I have dreamed about and hope there is a place like it in this world. I went to
Hawaii this past spring break and I have wanted to go to Hawaii since I was a little girl so first of all my
dream came true. Second I love the ocean and beaches and any type of activities in the water. The
beaches in Hawaii were so beautiful and the ocean was a prefect blue color with big reefs around them.
The first day we went snorkeling in this tiny island area and when I brought my head out of the water
and wandered into a small beach hidden behind some mountains and rocks and my body filled with so
much joy. I told myself I would live in a place like that one day. My favorite place will always be this
island I have dreamed about and I know one day I will find it and start my life there.
